Ron Holland ruptured a tendon in his right thumb and had season ending surgery in January. That means his first summer league game was his first really competitive basketball in nearly six months. Resting him after the first game makes sense in light of that. Also, considering his brand of basketball (reckless and aggressive), it makes sense to be careful with him in games that don’t matter as much. Summer league is a good platform to see if a player has a feel for the game and to assess what needs to be tweaked or fixed. I loved his aggressiveness on both ends. Bobi Klintman has a better feel for the game than any of the other players. He knows where to locate himself on the floor and he knows where and when to relocate. He makes the game easier for his teammates with his ability to move off ball and his ability to read the game and find open man. His touch is on point. His intelligence on defense is also impressive.

Right, I normally like the content, but I turned it off after he said game 2 was terrible and offered opinions when he didn't even watch the whole game. Game had lots of positives, Bobi, Jenkins going off, Sasser bounce back, plus Pistons WON, plus lockdown defense in 4th quarter 24-9 run,but hey let's just push our own narrative. At least wait 30 minutes before releasing a video about a game you only saw half way.

Really happy to hear that Jarret Jack is returning - his engagement with the players seems highly desirable. The Walton hire is intriguing - I do think he's the closest thing we could get to an "offensive guru" given his resume(played under Phil with Kobe, coached with Kerr) - matter of fact... just realized he was a rookie on that 04 Lakers team and was essential in their only win, lol(7 pts, 8 ast, 2blk, 3/3 fg). Look at the circle of life 😂🤣 On the topic of summer league, my immediate thought about Holland is how eerily similar he is to Ausar in play style and effectiveness i.e. we are probably losing any games that they play significant minutes together this season. Some were complaining about the zone defense the 6ers played but in reality, the regular season would be no different. If im the opposing team and i see Ausar and Holland(for the love of God, please don't let Duren be out there too) - *instant 2-3 zone*. Klintman does pretty much everything you want a modern 4 to do. Jenkins looks good enough to have a guaranteed contract(like, give him the Bronny deal NOW) and yes, he should usurp Sasser at this point.

Ron not playing last night was really odd. He obviously doesn’t need to rest at his age just because of a back to back. I’m guessing the Pistons are being cautious with his thumb injury/recovery which was originally being reported. Bobi Klintman looks like the real deal, we may have an actual 2nd round draft steal. Daniss Jenkins was the real star last night. His defense has been impressive, but last night he was scoring and had the solid defense, he was fun to watch. Ron is going off tonight, time to shut down Matas and put him on a poster!

WTF Ku? "Don't bother to watch the game." The 2nd game had bad stretches but was more than worth watching to see Jenkins and Klintman. Jenkins was strong the entire game. He was playing off guard due to the lineup. But, based on a 2 game sample, he is clearly better than Sasser at ball handling, breaking down defenses, playing defense and (so far) shooting. Sasser improved over a terrible first game. Some nice moves to the rim and some assists. But no where close to Jenkins. As for Klintman, it was interesting to see that after a bad shooting 1st half he kept at it and turned things around in the 2nd half. He is a bit wild at times ( I saw what I think is Josh Jackson comparison in comments) but hopefully that can be corrected.

Danis was masterful in his second game. He defended well. He shot the crap out of the ball. And he was poised. Bobi exploded in the third quarter. I think checking and not reporting on his second half performance and the team’s second half performance was a mistake. Teams make adjustments. Players settle down and games improve immensely by the second half. Sass picked up his play. Danis was on point. Bobi exploded.

To many turnovers for both of them. Sasser is a scoring guard who can pass and defend. But his size he has to play point. Jenkins has height but he has to be a better passer. He also has a good motor. But it's summer league but these are still building blocks.

@@Heru313 o LoL Far fewer turnovers per minutes played than Cade or Ivey--for both guys. Sasser is a lessor version of Monte Morris. That's a fine skill set for a backup guard. Currently he's the Pistons third PG because we only have three guys who can sorta play PG.
