I think of all the foreign vloggers in the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jumping Places is really the winner. Getting stuck in Palawan was a great opportunity for you to showcase places off the beaten path, while others were either stuck in the city or have resorted to non-travel content. The Department of Tourism should cite you as tourism ambassadors for promoting Palawan amid the pandemic.

About 15 years ago I arrived in the Philippines to begin a 9-year stint living abroad. I spent the first several years living in Makati, and my favorite place to go was Greenbelt indoor/outdoor retail entertainment center. At the time, Cafe Havana had indoor/outdoor dining, an outdoor hookah lounge, and live band entertainment. It was quite the scene, especially with all the ladyboys preying on the old unsuspecting foreign men that were fresh off the boat who had no idea the "chicks" that were hitting on them has d***s, hahaha. And yes, there are quite a few uber-rich folks in Makati and the surrounding neighborhoods (Fort Bonifacio/Global City, Ayala Alabang, etc.). My first date with my wife was over 14 years ago at Greenbelt. Now we are back in the USA working our asses off, dreaming of retirement in a tropical country someday.

well it's actually the Yellow Media like ABSCBN , CNN, Rappler who spread news about the poverty of the Philippines to the whole world. Then the gullible westerners think that the Phils is really damn poor so they send out donations etc to these media outfits but none of their donations really get to the poor 100%. Its 50% to their own pockets! Thats why these yellow media give a bad impression about the Phils to the whole world where in fact the Phil is a rich country pretending to be poor nation. Manila is a rich city, media only focuses the slum areas as part of their donation campaign..

That is in Ayala, Makati City. One of PH's Central Business District. I know cause I've studied there in Ayala, Makati City for 4 years in college. My University is near Makati Medical Center and a few kilometers away from Landmark, Glorietta, Greenbelt and SM Makati. Ayala is actually a Privately owned land. Owned by Filipino-Spanish Billionaire Businessman Mr.Jaime Zobel De Ayala. He makes very luxurious lands in the country including BGC.

Your videos and commentaries are always honest and insightful. I can easily learn a lot about the culture and society from your videos. Compared to other vloggers, your commentaries have more substance. More National Geographic or CNN kind of substance. Thank you for visiting the PH, and embracing the country, culture, and its people-with all its beauty and flaws. Will be watching and supporting your new adventures wherever it may be.

I heard bgc was made because they can no longer raise buildings in Makati cbd. And owners/property dev of makati are the ones who purchased it and created a new financial/lifestyle district closer to makati cbd. While bgc is nice I still prefer the vibe in makati.

Makati City had been my home for 3 years before migrating to Canada. A walking distant or a jeepney ride to Ayala Ave or Makati Ave. I have great and fun memories while living in the city. With many changes that happened I don't miss Makati much, nothing is holding me back there. My favorite party place closed it's doors as well as the Precious Moments store near the Pasay border and the condo unit that I used to live was rented and I miss night swimming in that place.

Makati is the business district hence the tall buildings but there are also other cities in Manila that are fast developing where you can also see great structures. BGC, Quezon City, Manila and even the neighboring towns also boasts of great things to see. You should’ve explored more the Phils now that travel and tourism has opened up a bit! There are surely be great contents for your subscribers to watch! Well, at least you have something to look forward to on your next visit!

Makati can improve further. More greenery, bike lanes, elevated/underground walkways, proposed subway. Green bldgs and public transpo. Housing for its informal settlers, underground cables etc

Not to burst your bubble but we do have greenery , Ayala Triangle Garden, Makati Park, Circuit Makati, Washington Sycip Park, Legazpi Park, etc. We also have many elevated and underground and modern looking walkways. We have green buildings and transpo too, ever heard of the E-Jeepneys and those P2P Buses? We have public housing, the Makati Public Housing have been around for decades. We also have better healthcare and education wise Makati provides many free supplies. Citizen wise we also have many perks especially for the elderly. Not all cities have those benefits even if BGC have the most gorgeous architecture.

@@georgiebennett3336 Not enough. With the kind of budget makati is getting, you guys should at least be in the level of HK or singapore on a per square kilometer basis. Ang makati public housing (FM project, not makati/local), indigent people ba pinatira jan or people close to city hall? Also ilan units/clusters lang ba yan compared sa dami ng indigents/IS elsewhere like the 'embo' bgys or those near old sta ana racetrack (circuit makati). Ang e-vehicles nyo, ilan porsiyento compared to total public transpo? The elevated walkways sana ituloy til makati med, at lagyan ng buendia counterpart as originally planned. Also air quality in makati is not as good compared to other parts of ncr/phl Bottomline, remove ayala cbd in makati and it is just any other city in the country, or worse

lived In Makati for 5 years prior to Covid.....its surreal to see the impacts in Makati via this Video....Empty Streets , Empty Retail Malls, No People, No ability to earn income, No Disposable Income for 20 Million people overall in Manila.......Extremely sad when i think of all of the workers, the business owners, self employed etc etc , without the ability to earn income - - - many families effected because of Covid.....I prey that the people will be looked after by all of the Govt representatives/departments , that have a responsibility to care & ensure it protects all the people that have elected them....Rice & sardines help, but not a long term singular solution that will sustain life for the next 12-24 months when Vaccine is accessible in the Philippines....Keep helping the people also by assisting all with the other necessities for people to survive after food - ELECTRICITY, WATER, INTERNET for students & home based earners.....

The government of President Duterte take care of the people not like in other countries they are on the streets protesting against their government. We Filipino know how to handle difficulties. All news that are being publish outside Philippine are not true. We all leave in peace despite we experienced a lot of calamities. We all know that the administration of President Duterte is working to improve the life of the people. Prohibited drugs are now under control. No more addict that are on the street to harm the people.
