If I was in charge of Electrify America, I'd have one simple solution that will fix all this nonsense. As a condition of employment, I'd REQUIRE every single engineer go on a 4 hour drive with their family each weekend in an EV using the Electrify America network. I bet every single one of the issues will be resolved within a week after the engineers have to deal with their family telling them what they think of all the errors, delays, handshakes, disconnects, etc., Same policy for Ford engineers who are responsible for the charging software. Heck, I'd require Ford and Electrify America engineers to go on road trips together each weekend together with their respective families. using the charging network

My experience in the mountains of Colorado (on I-70) is that a downhill run is not an excuse to go wide open. Even on a long grade of 7%, there is a speed above which you are paying more to push the air out of the way than what you are gaining from the loss in elevation.

The whole charging fiasco I think it’s the Ford issue. And this is one of the best examples when a company outsources things which customers interact with. Sandy Munro Said it right in Elon musk interview, anything that customers interact with directly have to be made in-house. Eventually that becomes industry standard and others can adapt to that standard.

Thanks for doing these non-Tesla EV road trips Kyle. Not that I want them to fail by any means, but this certainly shows just how far ahead Tesla is. Granted, not everyone is going to do a long road trip in an EV. But as you've shown in your Tesla videos, it should be a quick, painless and seamless experience. Even simple things like the charge port door opening/closing automatically is a really nice feature, which you mentioned in this video after you forgot to close it during one session. I've never had any issues so far with my Model Y having visited a few superchargers now. Just plug it in, watch an episode on Netflix, and car is ready to go, oftentimes before the video is done playing. I would hate for people who buy a non-Tesla EV try a road trip, and they encounter these same issues. It would certainly sour their experience on EV's in general, and they may very well go back to a gas guzzler if it's bad enough. I hope these issues get resolved so EV adoption rates can go up in the coming years.

You are the GOAT man, love watching reviews on anything involving tech and these videos will guide us to aid us in making the right decision when choosing an EV. I really like how some chargers available next to restaurants and stuff, I can go grab a bite and come back to plenty of charge on my car (provided no errrors). Sad that chargers next to gas stations but not next to hotels, I think businesses would be so smart to install chargers for their customers such as for restaurants or hotels. I am looking forward to the RZ450e hope you'll put in a good review of it so I can have an idea of a road trip. I'm reading so far it will have 225 miles of range and that the battery charges to 80% in 30minutes. I am also curious how their new UV reflective technology for their glass will affect the vehicles temperature and range. Looking forward to more of these reviews.
