Looks more like a cross between an air raid shelter and a steam engine! And it seems the chocks ARE the parking brakes! 7m:57s - what the hell kind of view is that!? Later: After watching this, I'm glad I don't have MSFS or I'd spend all my time buying and flying these bonkers aircraft! Bankrupt within a month! So, thank you Jonathan for saving me from myself! Very cool, totally steampunk, and absolutely hilarious!

I was going to be less charitable, and say "garden shed" - but it's still good fun to fly :)

hi Jonathan, love your vids mate, they are a huge help to a beginner like me,,,just wondering if you could have a look at the black box islander again, it has had a major update,🤞

Yes - I'll get around to it. The update has changed it quite a lot - it now has CFD and proper prop simulation - flying on full flaps is... exciting lol

What a neat plane but no autopilot... which is to be expected for the time period. Jonathan, if you fly the more modern (replica) version there are hidden features in the Garmin. I saw this in another youtube review.

Yes - I saw there is a more modern version - I think I mentioned it in the video. I kind of like the challenge of flying planes that have nothing though - and you have to navigate by looking at the scenery :)

Yeah, learn how to fly and trim, rather than worrying about a computer, sensors and servos doing it for you. You might actually enjoy it if you’re not careful.

I really like this bird. Whilst I’m obviously no expert, I feel that the plane is too fast. I think it should roll to a stop at idle, after all it had no brakes. I also think that whilst the wingspan is long, and perhaps would be somewhat floaty at idle too, perhaps it should be a bit more draggy. Thanks for the vid. 👍

The notes for the aircraft let on that it has a far more powerful engine than the 1920s versions had. I guess they wanted it to be fun, rather than a chore to struggle with.

You have to remember these guys never landed on paved runways. They were meant for grass and dirt which will slow the roll more.
