The more I get into "metal work", the more I find I need to supplement my machining hobby with more helpful tools. I have a number of different saws and one of my Craftsman bandsaws I modified to "gear down" the RPM by adding smaller wheels. I also picked up a DeWalt chop saw with an abrasive wheel that really doesn't do the job.
For years I've thought about the HF Central Machinery stationary bandsaw but never had the space for such a large machine in the garage. Then I found the VEVOR portable bandsaw and it appealed to me for a couple of reasons. Price is always part of the mix. For this particular machine size also was a variable.
I was reasonably pleased with the build quality as well as the initial cuts. Since making this video I've used the machine more times than my DeWalt chop saw and Craftsman metal dedicated bandsaw combined. I'm liking this unit and it really came in hand when modifying the mobile base for the Delta Unisaw. Good stuff.
