Hi Rick, Great to see you having fun getting stuck into some simple but effective mods on the new Jeep. They will help to keep the road noise down a bit while also helping to insulate the hard top. That should help the air con, too, so it doesn't have to work quite so hard in the coming summer months! The shop's looking good, too! CFDU, Martin :-)

Thanks Martin! Great to hear from you my friend. How is the Miata? Are you getting out at all despite the shut down?

Thanks for posting this video. I feel better about purchasing and installing on the wife’s Jeep. I’m a cyclist too here in S. Carolina 🤙🏾 Take care and stay safe!

Hey Rick. This is s definite pus for heat! Our Sahara "came with" when we purchased it last year, our previous model didn't have it and the heat on the panel was something else compared to now. As for sound, it also helped, I feel more than 3 decibels but that a guess. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the info much appreciated. I think you are correct on the better than 3 db's...it was quite a bit windier when I check the numbers after install. The one guy in the other video said it was 20 db's better on the freeway so that's pretty great! I think the heat reduction will we excellent as well. Appreciate your watching.

I am always skeptical of any tape on a brand new car but have to admit it looks really nice. Now it’s time to slide off that roof and go for a real Jeep ride 😉. Are you installing a lift in the shop to take roof off? Back in the day, I built a table for my 89 Wrangler tall enough to slide the roof off by myself. Cheers Rick! Have a great holiday.

Hi Deb, thank you! So far so good. You are right about getting the top off and getting out and about especially before it get's too hot around here. I had a "top lift" I put together for the old Jeep and will probably do the same here soon. Makes life much easier. Have a fun and safe weekend.

This is the kind of mod I would do right after buying the Jeep too. I prefer cars that are practical and comfortable before anything else. It surprises me that FCA doesn’t do this at the factory. I get it, it saves them costs, but just a thought....

They do have the option. Not sure if it is a dealer install or factory. Definitely adds a nice touch to the interior and should be cooler and less noise.

@@AZdroptop we have talked before. the only upgrade i have done is interior lights to led. i just didn't want to pay $10,000 more for the jeep. i love my crosstrek premium, though now they are offering eye sight on the 2020 premiums. i was planing on a 2.5 week trip to colorado and arizona next month but because of covid i had to cancel trip till next year.

Yes sir, that's right. I don't blame you on the extra cash...Jeep's have gotten a little crazy price wise. Sorry you had to cancel your trip, but hopefully things will calm down here soon.

You could for sure. It is fabric over whatever the core is made of.

The Mopar one is $525, which sounds pricey to me - how did the after-market one compare price wise?
@K03sport
3 жыл бұрын
@@27degrees ...price looked like it was a wash (Rick spend $20 more) w/the three items: head panels, sound deadener, and the rear panel window panel. In my experience, sometimes the aftermarket guys do it better, even for a bit more than the OEM supplied parts. However, the MOPAR stuff would be covered under warranty if purchased w/the vehicle; aftermarket stuff not so much

Ha ha. Thanks Steve. I think it is more the combo of the two. From the little bit of research I have done in the past you need a couple of different "barriers" to reduce noise. The stereo guys have it down.
