Finely, we find someone realistic and tell the truth. I'm really fed up with scams that always lie to us about businesses on Etsy from others. God bless you because we saw different videos. The result is different for earning money, and then we thought it was easy to get clients.

But its really not realistic since its only 30 days. Ive seen some listings have no traffic for a year and all of a sudden they were active as hell. Plus this is a brand new shop. I think its quite unrealistic actually seeing as it take even 60-90 days for some of etsy algos to settle in.

I want you to know that I like and appreciate this video for two reasons, and I want to share them with you. First of all you are transparant with the numbers and don't try to exaggerate the profit for clicks, which is pretty uncommon these days. The second thing I really liked is more about you; you talk very calm and clear even if I can tell you are excited about the content. Today everyone seem to think you have to jam-pack every second with information and value which for me can be exhausting to listen to after a while. So, good content and nicely presented! Keep it up 😊

Appreciate your honesty it’s so refreshing…the key point as well, which I’m so glad you mentioned, is revenue is not profit. I think so many people get caught up in that number that they don’t realise or understand you need to negate Etsy fees and any costs to determine your actual net profit. Also that if you owe Etsy anything (.I.e listing fees, ads etc) if there is any revenue those amounts will also be negated from the total revenue so it may result in no actual profit or a very small amount after the fact. I researched for the longest time before I even thought about starting an Etsy store& I only opened mine once I had a clear understanding of Etsy - I’m not drowning in orders but I’m happy that I’ve at least made one sale & I’ll be looking into digital products & making them available worldwide as currently my physical products are just shipping within Australia so that could also be working against me as I’m limiting my overall reach.

Love the approach with realistic expectations. $100 could well be lifechanging money for someone who spends all day to earn that in a workplace. And given that these products are somewhat set-and-forget, once you've made your intial investment back the rest is gravy. Anything is better than nothing right?

Thank you for your transparency of results. Lots of other reviewers who make money on Etsy, only report the high revenue. The only thing, is profit and revenue are not the same. From physical products like Tshirts the profit may only be 15 percent due to costs. So a reported 10K revenue in a month may only be $1500 in profit for physical items. With digital products however the seller keeps most of the profit after Etsy and ad costs, so may keep 80 to 85 percent of profit which is good. Thanks for review.

Great to see someone start a new shop and see how it worked out. I opened a shop and then it was "suspended" and I don't know why. I appealed the suspension (12 days ago), but I'm still waiting. Very frustrating not knowing the why. I have had an Etsy account (over 5 years) to make purchases. But as soon as I hit the set up shop after filling in all the required information.... my account was suspended as if I was a criminal... so sad.

Even though I have experience in graphic design it was still a learning curve understanding Canva and the best way to make templates for other people (It's one thing to make a nice design, but to make a nice design AND make sure a non designer can open it and it's easy to edit is another time consuming part). Once that hurdle is crossed it gets a lot easier but is definitely more time consuming than I anticipated and other people made it out to be!

I'm feeling so discouraged, I put so much work into this but it's starting to feel like it's for nothing.... I just feel like everything I try to do fails. I definitely think the Etsy ads are worth it to get your product seen. Otherwise especially in digital art it’s so saturated and would be so hard for people to find your product! However you may lose money at first and it is a risk, but if you believe in your designs then definitely try the Etsy ads. And if that doesn’t work, maybe need to try a more narrowed down niche with less competition. Don’t give up I hope you get sales soon!

Guys digital poster downloads are so saturated, especially with all the generic Matisse Picasso, Keith Harring posters that have flooded the majority of Etsy listings. Most of the digital download art I see is super generic and only a small fraction is actually nice and thoughtful art that you’re proud to hang on your wall. (At least for me). So how you differentiate yourself? Well, why don’t you sell ready printed high quality posters? Why instead of 40+ listings of generic art you see all over the net, you don’t create 20 or 30 listing of unique artwork posters printed on a high quality paper? That’s how you differentiate yourself, quality over quantity. Don’t try to compete shops with 10000 sales selling generic art, you are probably selling generic art as well or not interesting one (no offense). My advice would be change your lens (if you want to stay in that lane of posters) or change a niche

That really sucks about the conversion rate!! I so didn't know that! So I suppose the way to go is to not share my link at all? Because I've been putting it in the Bio of my Social Medias, and making content to advertise for it... :(
@shoreseeker
Жыл бұрын
I think advertising outside of Etsy with the link is totally fine, for example on Pinterest or on an official shop page on Instagram. But if it’s sharing to everyone (friends and randoms) who may not be interested in buying it but keep checking it out then yeah unfortunately it might make the conversion rate go down if they don’t buy it! 😔 I’m still learning and figuring it out but don’t lose hope, just be mindful of where you’re putting the link 😊 Or maybe even make a separate website for your business and put the products on there and you can redirect customers to that website instead of Etsy to buy products directly from you (and you’ll receive more profit anyway) and then for Etsy keep the advertising within the Etsy website and see how that goes. Just some ideas!

@shoreseeker
Жыл бұрын
I explained briefly in the video but all the Etsy sellers that share their findings on KZitem don’t share their page link as it’ll direct too much traffic to the page of people who don’t end up buying the product. Thus lowering the conversion rate (mines around 3-4% conversion rate as shown in the stats right now) to very low if people view it but don’t buy. This makes the Etsy algorithm think you don’t have a good product and it’s not worth pushing out to new people, or the algorithm gets confused as to what target audience your store is for. So it makes it way harder to sell products if the Etsy algorithm doesn’t push it out. I’d love to show the store name and products and understand the frustration but this is why I can’t unfortunately 😢
@Icedanon

I don’t think it’s stealing in your spotlight. There’s plenty of room to go around on all of us are graphic designer so we need to rely on things like Canva.

What do you mean your net profit was -$3 first month? I see lot of YT videos showing how to make $500 a day on Etsy

I’m showing realistic results - not sure if you watched the whole video but my revenue was $122 but after ads, Etsy fees, and the subscription costs it was -$3.00. So almost breaking even. I hope one day I’ll get $500 a day on Etsy but that’s pretty hard for a shop that’s only been open for 1 month. ☺️

@@shoreseeker if you have more products, realistically the ads are working meaning you will get more sales, so realistically, if you put more adds and like 500 listings you will make profit based on your current results,

Thank you I’ll definitely do that. I work a full time job so I don’t have time to work on so many listings yet. We will get there in the end, but right now these are the results for my store with only 4 listings and not being able to work every day on improving the store 😊 so I’m not expecting massive numbers yet for my store until I work harder on it.

I really want to help open an account that is about to be closed or send at least a message to convince support to get my account back because once I set up a store that was closed for no reason I don't know maybe because I live in Morocco or for other reasons I don't know please help me or create an Etsy account and send it as a gift to me I really need to work to help a charity that cares about helping homeless animals
