Great reaction- thanks! I am so glad I subscribed to your channel and am enjoying your respect and appreciation for all of the talent each member of Voice Play brings. You even have all their names right so that officially makes you a "Voice Player" or "Voice Playa" (fan of Voice Play) like the rest of us. Yes, Cesar was using his shackle as part of the percussion, Geoff did the vocal arrangement, and Eli (yes you pronounced his name right) did the lighting effects. Love Voice Play's theatrical approach too ( they have all worked as performers for Universal and/or Disney theme parks so they really are a complete package for entertainment). If you like Disney, you will love their covers of "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and "The Little Mermaid Medley" and it will give you and opportunity to hear Voice Play with a female vocalist as their featured guest. For gaming, check out their cover of "Dragonborn Comes". For Rock covers check out "Warriors", "Seven Nation Army", "Nothing Else Matters", "Dream On", Carry On My Wayward Son" or "In The Air Tonight".

Eli is an incredible actor. He’s like a chameleon-totally different from character to character. Cesar can do that too, from the tragic young sailor here to the fierce Viking in Valhalla. Every one of these guys is amazing at both the music and theater. Great reaction,Zack! I’m glad you’re having fun with Voiceplay!

Jose was not the featured artist who was supposed to do this one, but Covid travel restrictions prevented the original collaborator from being there. Eli had already recorded the part that Jose sang, but his voice just was not appropriate for that sound. Eli re-recorded that rocking beast of a tenor line and knocked everyone's socks off!

This one has been neck-and-neck with Nothing Else Matters for my favorite VoicePlay number for over a year now. If you love pirates, you should definitely check out Drunken Sailor, which was released after this one but strikes me more as a prequel in how it's set up and the makeup is done--these are the guys from that video after they've been through some crap. 😆 They've also got a fun mini version of A Pirate's Life For Me and a mid-length cover of The Wellermen that you might enjoy. And their new video that should be dropping pretty soon now may also be of interest. Thanks for a great reaction!

This was known as the reactor-breaker when it first came out because it astounded most people, especially Geoff’s F1 subs and Eli’s rock belts 😄

Great reaction as usual. By the way, you don't have to sell yourself as a pirates fan, the face gives it away during the song. On a different note, while not about pirates, you might want to check out "My Mother Told Me" or "A whistling Lad" by the Hound + Fox, featuring Adam Chance. Adam is the key driver of his Home Free's pirate or sea shanty songs and his work with the Hound + Fox really brings it out.

Yep, it's Eli, rhyming with 'jelly'; short for Eliezer. And I think the unspoken rule that VoicePlay follows is that if they use anything other than a voice, to create a sound then they will show it; Cesar was indeed using the shackles in places for an atmospheric percussive element.

Yes, this isnt the usual American name of Eli, it's short for Eliezer, a Hebrew biblical name. Actually i suppose the name Eli originally came from that too but Americanised. Except among Jews. :) Yes you can here the shackles occasionally. Drunken Sailor is fun though not actually Viking, more whaling ship sailors, but it's a lot of fun. The thing about headphones is that Geoff's voice vibrates through your entire body when he goes super low. Also when they switch the sound from left to right or vice versa, it's moreobvious wearing headphones.

There is also a name "Eli" that is typically pronounced the way you think (at least in the English-speaking world); but in this case, it's short for Eleazar. Totally agree about headphones. They're better than cheap speakers that most people assume everyone has, but an actual good sound system is better.

More pirate stuff, eh? Okay, I have a suggestion for a reaction (or just for on your own for fun), out of the realms of A Capella. There's this channel called "The Hillywood Show." Two sisters, fan-based. They do amazing (mostly musical) parodies. Their Pirates of The Caribbean Parody is EPIC! Especially if you also are familiar with Adam Lambert. You know, the current lead singer of Queen? He has a solo career too. If you watch it on your own, let me know what you think!
