If you haven't seen the previous videos on this bike then be sure to check them out as i've already got this running and it has its first start in 16 years in the last episode after I strip and rebuild the carburettors.
In this video you'll see me refurbish the brakes and clutch so that I can ride this abandoned and neglected 80s superbike for the first time in 16 years. You'll see me bleed the brakes, and bleed the clutch and change the coolant on this sport bike.
The battery is completely flat so I charge that up but at the end of the day it needs a new battery. Initially I use my Jaguar XF to jumpstart the bike but when I fail to have a clutch that's working and have to strip and rebuild it again my Yamaha Thundercat YZF600R comes to the rescue in the end to help jumpstart.
This barnfind Yamaha FZR1000 was left for 8 years inside and then another 8 years outside. I have to tackle seized bolts and many other obstacles to get this bike moving under it's own steam again.
Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about my GPZ900R, I'm still waiting on parts so that I can continue the rebuild of the suspension.
If you enjoyed this video then please hit that subscribe button and check out my other content where I repair a crash damaged Copart purchase, completely stripdown another 80's superbike, repair my MacBook Pro and there's also a video where I try and fry an egg on my car on the hottest day of the year!
Enjoy!
