One of the many things which makes your riding reviews so enjoyable, is the camera view that is always what the rider sees, devoid of the “clutter” of phone and/or camera mounts. It presents us with a true feeling of being on the bike 😉👍!

nice review, honest and straight forward,no nonsense, and love the camera angle from riding..please,dont ever change that :) . As for the knees not fitting in the tank, it seems to me that Norton got the footpeg position wrong by about 30 mm, if moved back that much,dont think anyone would have a problem with their knees fitting into the tank cut, and you are pretty average height . Maybe a pair of custom alloy mounting plates would be an option, or the fact that Norton could get it right from the off :P . Great review, just found this channel, please keep em comming . From a life long biker :)
@chrisdevine2126

Your suggestion of moving the pegs back to get your knees in the tank cut out is not viable. Firstly this lady (she must be about 6ft) is not of general UK height which is about 5ft 7inch , which is my height and I own a brand new Commando 961 sp (Aug 24) and my feet only just reach the ground! If anything the seat is too high. As for your knees going inwards, they cannot as the pegs are to far out and pushing your knees in is not comfortable and hurts! Plus the foot pegs are quite far enough back already and any further would be in rear set territory. She mentioned the weight and believe me it is significant and quite high up, so pushing the bike around is fun! Also the brake pedal is to high, ditto the gear lever, I am trying to see if they can be adjusted, as they can on the £6,000 Enfield 650 interceptor. Trust me as a motorcyclist of 57 years (98 bikes) I know what I am talking about.

Hi 👋, Great Looking 👀 Bike, I remember them well, I past my bike test when I was 17, back in late 60s, I have had three Norton, And at the age of 17 and three months, as when I had my first brand-new one, Great review on the bike, And even you are riding my old stomping grounds, Near where I’ve lived for the best part of 25 years, I originally come from Cambridgeshire, not quite sure about the sound, as I believe it is about a lot of motorcycles nowadays, they do not sound the same, They have lost the throatiness how they should sound, I believe bikes are getting too quiet nowadays, And sounds saves lives, a few weeks ago I did go to a Indian dealership in Suffolk highly recommended, Krazy Horse, Where they have a great show of motorcycles, And highly recommended to visit their café on that premises, And very pleasant atmosphere, and you did not feel intimidated , very helpful and friendly, If I’ve got the spare money, I definitely would buy another Norton , or even an Indian for that matter, But I have been a loyal Harley Davidson rider since the 1994/5 , from an old dude, right safe, Look forward to seeing more of the English countryside,

You're the only road tester I've seen to date who's lighter than I am, at ten stone, hang on, I'll use the converter gizmo, 63.5. Most bikes today seem to be set up too stiff. Had to have a lighter spring fitted to my SV thou by the good folks at Maxton in Cheshire. I'm either too cheap or too sensible to pay £500+ for a good aftermarket shock, especially now with 20 MPH speed limits in my home base in Wales.

When opening your garage to pick which toy to play with is a dilemma, things are good! Normally I know which one in the test fleet you really fancy most, but it's a tough decision atm. Wonder if the knee position thing would even be felt if riding in leather jeans? The chunky knee arnour in mine would maybe block all the awkward sensation you're feeling? Try it with your full suit on.

Got to say I was disappointed with the Norton 961, I really wanted to be amazed by it but it’s not quite sorted. let’s start with the good points, suspension was very good absorbing the disgraceful state of uk roads, it looks fantastic with beautiful handmade parts married to very high quality components, although tale unit bulging “ Bussell” might divide opinion. The seat height is great for those of us with shorter legs. Brakes were great. OK so now the bad, vibration!! what’s going on there it comes from everywhere I was behind another Norton on a test ride and the vibration joined together with the bike in fronts exhaust note and it was like a sound based death ray from a sci-fi movie., It’s not as fast as I thought it might be, 5 gears ?? Shift didn’t feel that crisp especially when hunting for neutral, nasty mirrors, side stand access poor, switchgear, there is some beautiful stuff available on the market, Norton should be fitting better for the £16K + price tag, clocks are OK but could be better, should have the tiny LED indicators and why not have self cancelling indicators programmed through the ECU with a choice of time 10, 15 20 secs etc - the indicator light is very hard to see. I guess if you want a British built high quality classic it’s a great bike but if you have ridden a Triumph Speed Twin 1200 then it isn’t. I really hope Norton to can just tweak those points and have a proper success on their hands.
