FINALLY!!! This new model has been out for a year now and this is the first worthwhile old-vs-new Trixx comparison I've seen. Great work, thanks!

Hey man, I've got a 2024 Trixx 3up and installed the front storage bin before fully figuring out the submarines on it. Not sure if it does it better without the bin or not, but I have figured out the best way to do them: Ski must be in Trixx mode to properly perform this to the best ability. Hold on tight and head in to it at about 30 KM/H stand up and lean as far forward as possible (leaning over the handle bars) Hold down Brake/Reverse lever all the way down and then do the same with the gas. finishing with both levers fully depressed. Ski will decelerated very quickly and change into reverse while ski is still going forward, this will force the front end completely underwater. Get ready to release the Brake/Reverse lever at the very end (when you stop moving forward) to pull you out of the water or ski will want to roll to side. I've been able to get water up to the base of the handlebars, seems to be the limit with the 3up w/ storage bin. Pretty fun, but I feel the 1up w/o bin would be the best test for this. ✌

That’s some solid info you’ve got there-thanks for sharing! Sounds like you’ve really nailed down the technique for submarining the Trixx 3up. Leaning forward and managing both levers like that definitely seems like it would give you some epic results. I must admit I didn't really try it, as was keen to mainly test the new wheelies and spins etc, hopefully I get another go but will be holding out to buy one until we see a Spark X.... I hear you on the front storage bin-it might be limiting the full potential of those submarines. The 1up without the bin is yes likely going to give the best results for the trixx for sure... It’s all about experimenting and finding what works best, right? Glad you’re having fun with it, mate! ✌️ Thanks for watching and supporting 👌👍

@@classicjetskisdo u think we’ll actually be seeing a spark x come anytime soon? I’ve been waiting as well I have a 2016 model and love everything about and have turned it into a trixx but still just missing that 5-10 miles all my buddy’s normal skis run around at. All their normal skis seem to run 55 plus then if it’s supercharged or has a turbo 60+ mph.

@@Lineituplawncare So 100% Seadoo will do a faster Spark, it just when realistically as they have 0 reason to release it now when they can sell the new gen spark on the new look and new features alone... I think it will be 2-3 years before we see it. Honestly dude you need a 2 stroke 951 in your life, thats a 63mph ski and does everything the spark can do apart from wheelies. Thats why I have new and old to bridge the performance gap, if I was riding my spark all the time I would get fed up quick as its way to slow for me... Thanks for watching 💪💪

I really like the classic 2-stroke skis! That said, one cannot own an old ski without doing lots of troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. I was just stranded on my 2000 SeaDoo GSX on Saturday (seems to be the rotary valve), so I went to rescue it on Sunday with the other ski, a 1995 Kawasaki 1100ZXi, and it died on the boat ramp! (The starter solenoid went out on me when the electrical box got wet due to a bad seal.) It must be nice to have a modern ski that starts every time:)

Hey mate! Dude, I totally get where you’re coming from. Classic 2-stroke skis are just special and a blast from the past, and nothing beats that nostalgic vibe. But yeah, they sure know how to keep us busy with all the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs 😎 Man, sorry to hear about your weekend! Getting stranded on the SeaDoo GSX and then having the Kawasaki 1100ZXi give up on you at the ramp? That's some serious bad luck, buddy. Those rotary valves and starter solenoids always seem to pick the worst times to act up. A modern ski that starts every time does sound like a dream, but there’s something special about the old ones, right? Hang in there, mate. It’s all part of the adventure! Hey Joe love the videos, been watching since your 91' XP restoration series. Your videos are such high quality and a pleasure to watch. I too have a 2021 trixx 3 up that I converted to two up as well as a 96' xp 787. Just curious why you prefer the 717 x4 over the 787 x4?
@classicjetskis

Hey buddy! Thanks a ton for the kind words and for sticking with me since the '91 XP restoration-means a lot, dude! Your 2021 Trixx 3 up and '96 XP 787 is a great combo. As for the 717 X4 vs. the 787 X4, I’ve got a bit of a bias towards the 717 for its reliability. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have a 787 too, but for me, the 717 from what I’ve seen just seems to holds up better over time. Plus on a realistic level there are more 717 around that weren’t raced and trashed in the 90s. If I had to choose, I’d probably go with a 1999 SPX instead of a 96 X4 XP... just because it’s slightly more refined and love the look of it with the throw back hump seat... newer gauges also... Thanks for watching and supporting dude 👍✌😎

I hear you dude but this is defiantly the M2... if you think about cars anytime there is a big look and spec change its normally coined a new gen... As much as its not more performance, which is what we all wanted, they made a number of staple changes features wise, including the new engine top hatch, which for sure is for when we see the faster spark, which will need more maintenance. This is defo the gen 2 platform for them to build from. Thanks for watching 👍✌

It’s not about doing Trixxs at 60 it’s about having a true performance lightweight ski without having to compromise and buy a big boat of a ski! FYI I can 360 my xp at 55mph, it’s all about confidence 👌 the spark or jet blaster needs to do 60, that is the sweet spot like we saw in the 90s.. thanks for watching 👍🙏

Correct the underside I believe is the exact same. However, we are all hoping that the top deck, in particular under the seat is slightly wider for the increased performance model we hope to see Seadoo introduce after a few years, when the aesthetic changes have ran their course for sales... atm people are buying the new look spark just on the merit of the new features and look alone... annoying as gen 1 riders want more power not waterproof phone storage... thanks for watching 👍

Like you initially I wasn't keen but having seen it up close its alot nicer in person, yes I agree its not as nice as the gen 1 angular design but the new Sea-Doo Spark has refined a lot of features and functionalities, which by the time they give us abit more power will be a strong overall package, but I hear you-there's something about that first-gen look that's hard to beat.
