Thanks for sharing. Looks like you made great progress..! Something I need to practise and learn as well. :-)

Thanks for the comment. Of course it's surprising what you can do just with a little practice. I wish my bike was a little lighter. I also practice doing 8 figures, .. in parking lots. I find it very satisfying ! Ride safe

Thanks for posting this. Very courageous. I reckon that's exactly how my first day trying to slide would go. Say, were you happy with the protection that the OEM Suzuki crash bars offered? I've got a near identical bike - Barkbusters and OEM crash bar. Not sure if I should swap the bar out for a Givi or Heed?

Thanks! If you’re thinking of doing a lot of off-road, maybe it would be better to change the crash bars to protect the bottom and the top. For normal use, OEM bars do the job very well. Barkbusters are essential. This bike is a tank. You can take it anywhere but you got to be strong!

@@bekhtaouif Thanks for your help with this, very useful! Probably won't get too serious about off-roading but I do want to get there. Hmm...decisions, decisions. I bet I'll regret not going for something more sturdy when first I drop it.

I think I'll be trying this on my xt225 before my Vstrom. What tires do you have on the Vstrom?

Of course your xt225 is the perfect bike to practice. It's a different story with the vstrom because of its weight. On the 1000 I had the Mitas E07. At the moment on the 1050 I have the original tire

how did you lock the back wheel with the ABS ?
@bekhtaouif
3 жыл бұрын
Here is the tip Steps to disable the Abs: 1- Turn on the bike and ride a few meters until the abs-led switch off (as normal) 2- With the bike on the central stand, put 2nd gear and accelerate (let spin the rear wheel) until the abs-led switch on. That’s it!. Now your abs is disabled. This seems that does not affect to the traction control. 3- To re-connect the abs, just turn off the engine with the key in the off position and turn the bike on.

@@bekhtaouif tnx.... I am thinking if installing a switch, connected to the ABS fuse, would be a more elegant solution. Maybe something I will tackle as a future project, right now I am using the bike 99% on paved roads.

@@ioandragulescu6063 Yes it's the best way if you want to go off-road on a regular basis. Thanks for watching. Cheers ✌
