Mine is in the mail. I have an 11.5t brushless going in. Looks like it's going to be fast!!

Sooyoun, thanks for sharing. As a kid I always wanted one. In the 80s they were super capable. Yours is running great, enjoy.

Thank you! After driving this one, I realized why Kyosho has been one of the most well-known off-road RC buggy manufacturers.

I've got the same electronics in mine. Instead of completely removing the fan from the XR10 ESC I found a low profile one and got shorter screws to mount it on. Seeing yours work without the fan at all I may consider removing all together. It runs well with the 13.5T motor and I recently got larger pinion gears to try with it for a little better top speed (haven't yet though)... but since this just seemed to barely get to a speed that I like with that setup (and I don't know that a a few more teeth on the pinion gear would help that much) I've ordered a 10.5T to try out. If it's too fast I may either put a slightly smaller spur gear in or go back to 13.5T and go with a larger spur gear. I mainly bash with it... so we'll see how it goes. 🙂

Hi there nice mid it sounds like the pinion is too tight to the spur gear have you gapped it properly.

Thanks for the suggestion but actually it wasn't the pinion. It was the plastic cover because it contacted the nut on the slipper.

Does anybody know what the limit you can have on a brushless motor on one of these new release ones cars? I was stupid enough to put one of the newer brushed motors into one of my old ones and it snapped within 2 seconds. I was lucky I had a new one. But I want to try heavy duty brushless motor in my new one rather than the shelf Queen.

This car is specifically designed/engineered for the Kyosho 15.5T Le Mans 240S brushless motor and ESC combo. It can handle it and then some.

What drives better in your opinion? Top Force or Turbo Optima Mid?

If you’re serious about vintage buggy racing, Turbo optima mid can be better choice. But just for fun to drive, Top Force seems to be better choice.

@@sooyoun30 I started with a Manta Ray, that's why I favour the DF01 chassis. But I REALLY like what Kyosho has done with its vintage series so far. But I currently only have a Turbo Scorpion and a Turbo Optima.

Awesome video Man. Do you think 13.5t is too much or just right? I'm considering getting either the mid or turbo optima with probably 15.5t le mans motor, maybe 13.5t but I'm scared lol. Currently running a turbo scorpion with 19.5t kyosho le mans and 3s. Would love to hear your thoughts. 🙏
