Loved listening to Art Bell back in the day. Coast to Coast was not the same without him.

Loved that show. I will never, ever, ever forget his descent into madness during Hale Bopp. It was glorious and I loved every minute of it!

I agree with everything you say about Art and listened to him from the start. Malachai Martin and Evelyn Paglini were among my favorite interviews. I hated Richard Hoagland. Such a windbag. He had a great sense of humor at that time and was so good with open lines. He aired on 600+ stations at the show's peak. You talk about how he handled his own calls. One time I called and let the phone ring and ring for like 30 minutes. He finally picked up and calmly explained I was listening to a time-delayed version of the show. It was like 3 a.m. and I was so embarrassed I apologized. He was totally cool about it. Probably up anyway talking to his ham radio friends. I have questions about his personal life, though. As Leah is writing a book, does she have any thoughts about the death of his first wife; his estranged son by her; or the life he led with his second wife in the Philippines? His two shows after Coast to Coast were so erratic. His last show was so short-lived he ended up really screwing his faithful website adminstrator, Keith. Can't wait to read your book.

The time traveler open line shows are great fun, along with the Ghost to Ghost episodes. The episodes with Mad Mike Marcum some of my favorites too.

His coverage of Chem trails, decades before RFK, still has not been eclipsed. I don’t trust nori or anyone else on coast to coast, but art was like a trusted friend.

A lot if his listeners were truckers and 3 rd shift workers.
