A few comments: Airspace: I am your eastern neighbour. German airspace is extremely GA friendly. I can fly from my home airport direct to the islands with no diversions needed. Close encounter: We use FLARM a lot over here. Though I had a "head on" with an ultralight last year that was a very close call. So all the technology is so important. And always be on FIS! I really enjoy your content. Keep it coming!

Nice video as always, would you be so kind of explaining how general aviation works in Europe, I see you guys always wear a safety vest, use Sky Demon vs ForeFlight or Garmin Pilot and most of the time use grass runways.

Looks like the opposing traffic was at the same altitude as you. Garmin confirmed this. Aren't you supposed to fly at even altitudes in one direction and and uneven altitudes in the other direction as we do in South Africa to avoid this? Beautiful countryside up there. Bonanza looks like a beaut.

As per SERA.5005 (g): Except where otherwise indicated in air traffic control clearances or specified by the competent authority, VFR flights in level cruising flight when operated above 900 m (3000 ft) from the ground or water, or a higher datum as specified by the competent authority, shall be conducted at a cruising level appropriate to the track as specified in the table of cruising levels in Appendix 3. @ 15:32 he reports being at 3000' so in theory the odd-even rule should not apply. (According to Appendix 3 table of SERA, 3500' is the first VFR altitude). However I don't know if there are special procedures in the Netherlands concerning this.

I got my PPL back in 1987 and it cost circa £4,000 spread over eighteen months. I guess you could add a couple of Grand at todays prices. Regards, Octoman in NI UK

Usually around 10,000 euro if you learn at a flying club (instead of a school). To keep up the hobby you'll want to fly a few hours a month at least which at minimum comes out to 5,400 a year (based on 3hr a month, 150 euro an hour Cessna 172). Look into microlight flying, cheaper and a lot of them have better gear than most larger aircraft.

Dommage !
