He was so good--he played guitar, drums sax and piano/organ. He was a genius and so full of soul. Thanks for remembering him.

This was Bobby's biggest hit in 1978. The R&B label that recorded this left his picture off the album & most people were shocked to find out that he was white. Bobby ended up having great success writing hit songs for other artists. Sadly Bobby just passed away this month.

My favorite comment on a Bobby Caldwell reaction video, "In the '70s, white musicians were funkier than a pot of greens with neck bones".

Bobby Caldwell's music brought us together no matter where we came from. You said you were still growing up, well I'm 66 years old and I'm still growing up! We should never stop learning as long as we are here. Keep it real like you're doing, I like your style! RIP Bobby Caldwell.

Wikipedia reports that Bobby was a guitarist for rock and roll legend Little Richard in the early 1970's. Bobby grew up in Miami, Florida. He was friends with reggae singer Bob Marley, who he met when Bobby's mother, who was a real estate agent, had Marley as a client.

Yeah..I didn't know he was white until years after his signature song came out. I originally thought it was a song by Bill Withers, as they had a similar style. I believe they kept the fact that Caldwell was white kind of hidden at the time as to not disrupt his record sales, something to that effect. Still, if you are gifted, you are gifted.. He has definitely won the hearts of his black audiences and other black artists in the years after. Thank you for the tribute.

Collard greens (or turnip greens) with some salt pepper and butter, some cornbread, and some meat covered in miles of spices and seasonings. Yes yes yes... I may be a white boy, but growing up in the south taught me how to EAT

I have faith in nothing except in one thing. That when this song comes on, you canot help but groove along to it. I dont care what you're doing. Driving, cleaning, working, about to perform brain surgery. Your body IMMEDIATELY starts swaying, you start humming the tune. For at least the first couple of bars, you are free.

You’re problem is you talk to Much. every time you cut the sun, it cuts the mood all you guys call yourself reactors, give the song a chance and stop it if you want to, but you guys stop it every five seconds. That’s not interesting.
