I never liked this band at the time when they were making it big and I was in my 20’s. They weren’t edgy enough for me and Chris Martin came across as a bit of a twat. But then one day you grow up, mature and you realise how on point they actually are. I wish I had of had that maturity at the time to realise and appreciate what a great band they actually were. They are band for people who are able to love and feel, rather than for those who follow a more self-destructive path

I had been there for three weeks and got to leave for few hours to go get some things from my home. On my way back to the hospital ward, I stopped at a local record shop and bought X & Y, the album. That night and for days afterwards I cried my eyes out listening to this song. It was just magical timing... It still gets me all choked up and I remember the doctor telling me, at 27 years old, that he had no idea if I would still be around in 5 years. I love Coldplay.. When I listen to them, I can hear all the music they listened to...Peter Gabriel, Radiohead, U2, Kate Bush, A-ha... are some of their influences and you can hear it. And since they’re all some of my favorite artists, I appreciate Coldplay more.

I am saying wow, not in response to the song, but to the awed-filled expression on your face at the conclusion of the song. So this is what the birth of a fan looks like. I'm glad you discovered something truly lovely and inspiring: beauty.
