'Where magnolia grows' refers to his home where he grew up. His father planted the tree after Danny's mother died.

Danny Vera was a classmate of Floor Jansen on the Rock Academy in Tilburg, The Netherlands. The magnolia he sings about was planted by his father in the garden of the house where he now lives after the death of his parents.

Danny is a Dutch singer-songwriter and musician. He is married to Escha Tanihatu and they have a little baby girl. I have been following them for over a year. He is amazing!! You should check out some of his covers too.

I dunno why, but this fellow Dutchman's work being appreciated by foreigners fulfills me with pride although I had nothing to do with the creation of this song in any shape or form whatsoever. Seeing you two really feeling and loving this song is the cherry on the already de-li-cious Vera-cake. Much love from the lowlands! 👊

little fact about this song. Vera originally didn't think Roller Coaster was good enough to be released as a single. He said: "For me it was just an album track. I never bring songs to the radio myself. After playing the song live on a Dutch TV program, however, he received so many positive reactions that he decided to release it as a single. It then became a very big hit and was itself number 1 in the top 2000.

So proud of my country now. When I heard him for the first time, I thought he was Roy Orbison and Elvis Presley’s love child and came from Nashville Tennesse. Imagine my surprise he was a fellow country man, from Middelburg off all places. Please see his version of in the ghetto in a TV show, he brings everyone to tears

It's a shame this song isn't a worldwide evergreen by now. Should have become a viral song during covid imo.

This version is even better. It was recorded live in the 3FM studios. I especially like the buildup of the song... kzitem.info/news/bejne/xI2bmplmmIeefJg
