My wife moved out July 20th of this year. It was very sad and unexpected. I pray everyday that she’ll come back although I don’t think she will. THANK YOU !! I listened to this song growing up, George Jones was his favourite artist, and this song is one of his BEST. So many people do not get the meaning of this song, the same as me, 10 years old - what would I know about love? It wasn't until later that I really understood, after my father had passed, what it really meant. My mother left him, and despite everything he loved her until the day he died. You have a great heart, and you listen to songs, really listen. You earned my sub and like.

OMG- You understood the meaning of the song! You are certainly an open and sympathizing heart. I am so glad you understand the value of this song. Country music is always reaching for a true delivery message and this song takes us there. This song is so heartbreaking. Men tend to render all their value to their woman until the end but sometimes the message gets misread. Women are the reason why we work hard, why we push ourselves to the limits and why we give up if we can't win their hearts. We hold hope until the end and can't be truly happy ever after losing their love. This song is the epitome of a man waiting for his only true love.

Been watching a bunch of reaction videos to this. Huge difference how men and women react. 2:25 Most women are happy this man is still carrying a torch for a woman who left him. Most men are sad. 2:53 "This is really pure love." Women really seem to think this way. That love isn't a reciprocal thing. Love is only something you get from a man. Cold as ice. Men see this as a living hell, not love. 3:02 "You'll forget in time." Men react and understand this line as her breaking up with him. Men have heard it before. Women breeze by this and don't realize for a while. One never understood. 4:39 This is where most woman get sad. The idea that the guy wasn't crying anymore and was smiling. Kind of shocked how cold. 4:53 First person to understand what a wreath on a door meant. We don't seem to be the same species.
