My favorite thing about your channel is definitely the range of artists you listen to. I never know what to expect when I see you've uploaded something new. Btw, "Hallelujah" is originally written by Leonard Cohen, but Jeff Buckley's cover is definitely the most popular version (although the version in Shrek is by a different artist haha).

There are (or were) a few short movies about him with interviews where he talks about music, love, spirituality, inspiration… He was amazing and left a truly indelible mark on many people and on music, as a whole. dream brother was a song about jeffs friend who was planning to leave this girl who got pregnant w his child and jeff (whos father musician tim buckley also abandoned him and his mother before his birth and resented him greatly for it especially since when he got famous people would constantly compare them) jeffs lyrics 'dont be like the one who made me so old, dont be like the one who left behind his name, cus theyre waiting for you like i waited for mine and nobody ever came' references him waiting for his father as a child who never came back basically telling his friend to not be a deadbeat knowing personally how hard it is on the child/family.

The lyrics to Dream Brother are a bit confiusing without context -- Jeff Buckley's dad was a famous singer./songwriter in the 60's, but he had little to no contact with Jeff at all. When he was in his 20's, a friend got his girlfriend pregnant and was wondering if he should be part of his child's life - this song was Jeff telling his friend to not be like Jeff's father had been. Really enjoyed your reaction!!

Jeff came into my view just before he died and this album remains a favourite, along with the later album Sketches from my sweetheart the Drunk, which was put together from demos he was recording when he drowned. If you watch the documentary it wasn't as mystical as people think. He was at the river with his mate went swimming in a known dangerous river with strong undercurrents. He used to swim there quite alot despite quite alot of people drowning there he would float on his back. His mate turned his back for a few mins and he was gone. That is the way they tell it in the documentary. People build up the mythos of a big stars death but if what the doc says is correct just was a shitty and fatal accident.
