Yes! Who sounds better live then on the record??? Steve Perry!! No autotune, no in ears! You just went out and jammed!!! This was their most well known recognizable songs. But every song is a banger. Open arms, who’s cry in now, lights, loving touch in sqeezin, wheel in the sky. List. It goes on and on and on!!!!!

It was the BEST of times, hands down! We're all getting old now😅, but I wouldn't change anything for the chance to grow up back then. When we hopped in the car and turned on the radio, this is the kind of music we heard, ALL the time and we just thought it was supposed to be like that and always would be. This is why we older people just can't get the music today and keep of listening to the old stuff. Just glad to see all you young people enjoying it. Journey was everything back then and there were a lot more who followed. Perry was younger here than when they did Separate Ways. This entire concert in Houston was filmed for MTV when it first came on the air. Music videos were just beginning around this time.

I can listen to this all day and it will never get old. One of the greatest songs ever made. Elvis was t entertainer and voice this world will ever see. Steve Perry, the voice, the best, Journey without him is no longer Journey. Watch the "Escape" tour live in Houston, they were so good live and perfectly coordinated. Neal Schon was perfect on guitar, Jonathan Cain was a hit on piano, Steve Smith was fire on drums and Ross Valory was super good on bass and then Steve Perry with his voice, charisma and stage presence. The Osaka Live tour in 1980 was also great, "Lights/Stay awhile" But also "Girl can't help it, I'll be alright without you" and much more

I was a teen and young adult during the '60s, 70's We would go to concerts quite a bit, as it didn't cost an arm and leg back then. It was the very best of times. Popular groups would often do free concerts. It was great! I have so many memories and miss them.

This song has taken on a life of its own. Baseball games, weddings, rallies, you name it. The SF Giants play it in the 7th inning of home games if they are tied or behind, and they do "Lights" if they are leading. Steve Perry is a mad Giants fan. Occasionally at games he will lead what's known as the "world's biggest karaoke bar" in the song. 😍

Good music remains good music, regardless of it's era. I love Journey, unfortunately never got to see them live, though the 70s/80s were my youth. If you want some great contemporary artists, two of my favorites are The Avett Brothers and Ed Sheeran. Check out 'The Once and Future Carpenter' by The Avett Brothers. And check out 'Perfect' and 'The Shape of You ' by Ed Sheeran. No autotune or corporate music here. Genuine talent. And they write their own music as well as playing and singing. Music is amazing. What a gift.

Choosing some of the best recorded live concerts of the Rock era. Some were downloaded on youtube many years ago and low-def... still great to watch. Another GREAT LIVE is CHICAGO - 25 or 6 to 4 - 7/21/1970. In low-def on early youtube download yet also now the official video for the song. Also I will add one youtube under the video - ELVIN BISHOP - Fooled Around And Fell In Love (Live Midnight Special 1977), but the actual singer in the band is Mickey Thomas along with Reni Slais. It was Elvins band, but on this song Mickey shined and this LIVE performance is top-notch. There is another video of it that says from 1975... just that one is not as good a quality of HD probably recorded on professional film vs older videotape so the 1977 same version with the date 1977 is best with Wolfman Jack a big music record radio and TV show personality on that version as well.
