yup. and that song has a super interesting back story too. Basically they needed an album filler for the album they were recording in a hotel in Montreux, Switzerland. While they were there a band was playing at the venue and someone sent off fireworks, the hotel caught fire and burned to the ground. So they wrote a song about the fire.. and it became their biggest hit.

These guys owe me a dinner. I'm serious. I was on a business trip in 1982, it was very late and I had just flown from LAX; the only place open was a Denny's. I stopped in, was seated by the waitress and then ignored. I thought I was on the only person there. After waiting about 15 minutes, I got up and starting looking for someone. Way in the back were a bunch of guys at a table with the staff all around them. I couldn't figure out what the deal was. One of the waitresses saw me, came over, apologized, said she'd be right over to take my order. So I went back, sat down and waited. And waited. Went back. The staff is still chattering with these guys. They didn't look like people I wanted to interrupt. I was really hungry so I went back again, waited. And waited... Finally, I got disgusted and left. Bought a candy car from the hotel vending machine. Sometime later (I forget exactly how long is was), I'm driving down a freeway in LA and I see billboard with a bunch of guys on it and the name Mötley Crüe. It was the guys from the Denny's! I remembered seeing a big bus at the back of the Denny's parking lot -- I didn't understand at the time, but it must've been their tour bus. I yelled at the my friends in the car "Those sons-a-bitches owe me dinner!" They thought I was nuts, so I had to tell the story. I thought of going to the concert to put in my claim for a dinner. I didn't, of course... But the SOBs still owe me dinner.

One should always start at the first album. After a while, all the bands become more polished and proficient. Motleys first stuff was more accessible. Yeah, like others have mentioned in the comments below ---- it's about the band's leader and bass player - Nikki Sixx - getting revived after overdosing. The paramedic literally slammed epinephrine in his chest in order to "kickstart his heart". One more interesting side note here... The music video shows all kinds of intense things like racing and sky diving BUT while it may sound like a motorcycle revving up at the beginning of the song , it's actually the guitar player - Mick Mars - playing that on his guitar !!! I remember buying the CD and cassette tape and VHS tape of all the albums music videos when this album was first released in 1989...... there was a whole scene in LA in the early 80's of "big hair and tight pants" (as you say). these were bands that took sex, drugs, and rock and roll and cranked it up to 11. motley crue would be my favorite of those bands, but some other ones in the same kind of vein would be poison, ratt, guns and roses, van halen, bon jovi, skid row, whitesnake, def leppard, and ozzy. some would say winger, and stryper belong to this genre as well but we disavow those 2 bands and give their fans wedgies. motley crue were known to party harder than anyone else and had the best "tour antics" stories. a few years ago they made a movie about the story of motley crue called "the dirt". listen to a few more tracks before watching it, but it's a pretty good movie. a few tracks i'd recommend would be live wire, dr feelgood, girls girls girls, shout at the devil, looks that kill, and for the ultimate power ballad home sweet home. you know how you were saying you dont know anyone who bumps motley crue? well you do now. i'm that guy. BTW that riff that beavis and butthead are singing is smoke on the water by deep purple.
