Saw Peter Gabriel in concert. So good. The tall bald bassist is Tony Levin. He's incrediblly innovative and talented. I can always tell when it's Tony Levin playing the bass in the background of any song bc he has his own unique sound. He has played bass for Peter Gabriel for years. But he also plays for other artists as well. He is his own musical entity. I've seen him play live a few times. 🙌

Just over two weeks ago I completed my Genesis bingo card by seeing the awesome Peter Gabriel at the O2 Arena in London. (I've seen Mike + The Mechanics, Steve Hackett twice, and last year I saw Genesis themselves on their farewell concert.) Yes, that is what Peter Gabriel does. For over two and a half hours, that's what he does. This song was the first Encore, and it was worth waiting for. What a privilege it was to see this in person. The only downside was that about five percent of the audience got up and left after Solsbury Hill, which ended the main part of the concert. You wonder if people know how concerts work. So there were people streaming down the stairs as Peter and the band came back on stage and this one started up. You may find videos of that concert on You Tube, maybe even on a channel near here . . . 😉 Solo Gabriel songs: Biko (which was the second Encore and the end of the concert); Solsbury Hill; Big Time; Red Rain; Don't Give Up (which is a duet, originally with Kate Bush), Sledgehammer. He has a new album out and the songs are phenomenal. The good news is he seems to be in good health and good voice, and was talking about 'the next project', so I have every hope of seeing him again.

This is a wonderful interpretation of this song, although I agree the Secret World clip is must see. I got to see Gabriel in the round at Madison Square Garden, and it was so much fun. I've seen him four times so far, and plan to see him again in Sept. For me, his most moving song is "Solsbury Hill" from his first album after leaving Genesis. Also, Biko is a great song with great meaning. If you do want to see him, don't miss the current tour. His last tour was more than a decade before. So no guarantees you'll get another chance. Also, the stagecraft looks spectacular.

Ok my friend I have seen Peter 7 times since 1983. I recommend you watch the US Tour Live film. It well worth it. In turns of seeing Peter live I can only describe it in one way, it is a religious experience. Honestly it is. I have seen more artists than I can remember and NOBODY and I mean NOBODY does concerts like him. Absolutely no one. He is presently touring on the I/O tour. This will most likely be hist last tour and probably album. It's been 20 years since the last studio album Up, Of note the three studio albums starting at so make the sentence, So Us Up. That is why you get emotional, because Peter reaches into a part of the human experience that most of us are afraid to do. Go and see him and then you will understand.

He's getting older here, and can no longer deliver that crack between octaves in his voice - somewhat depending on recorded enhancements in this performance. His stuff from the '80s is very cool and I'll suggest the official music videos for BIG TIME, STEAM, SHOCK THE MONKEY, and the Award Winning SLEDGEHAMMER - he was such a master of that new medium. Of course, his first big solo hit was SOLSBURY HILL. Keep up the reactions, Salvo!

Hi Mr Salvo and nice to see how you have dived to in some cases of the most underestimated genres of rock or pop or what ever... Personally Peter Gabriels peak was at the album IV aka non titled, but between fans called the 'Jungle Album' about 1982-1983 is a masterpiece of music. The 'Genesis' jo9urney will be a long task if take it, but I give you a one stand suggestion in between: 'Moby: Lift Me Up' and then you will at least feel what I felt when I was quite young:)

The lyrics stand alone. Peter G. could just stand there and sing. It would still be powerful. And that lady screaming takes away from it, in my opinion. I wonder if Peter G feels he can’t stand alone and be as impactful as I know he can. The original music and lyrics are enough: Love, ‘Whichever way I go I come back to the place you are. All my instincts, they return. The grand facade, so soon will burn. Without a noise, without my pride, I reach out from the inside….. In your eyes. I am complete. In your eyes I see the doorway - (in your eyes) of a thousand churches. In your eyes The resolution - (In your eyes) of all the fruitless searches. In your eyes… Oh, I wanna touch the light, the heat I see in your eyes.’ So beautiful.
