Prince and Michael are 2 diff types of musical geniuses. Michael was a genius at writing, arranging, dancing, harmonies, and esp music videos. Thriller propelled both Michael and MTV into the stratosphere. Prince is a genius in that he could play 27 instruments. He was an excellent guitarist but is underrated as a drummer, pianist and bass guitarist). He wrote, composed, produced, arranged and performed most of the songs on his pre Purple Rain albums. He later included his band members in some of those processes, esp w later albums. His vocal range (esp his falsetto) is very impressive. Check out I Wanna Be Your Lover and Let's Go Crazy as prime examples. He created "The Minneapolis Sound" a subgenre sound/style of R&Bmusic. He also created great bands like The Time and Mazarati (two of my fave bands); girl group Vanity/Appollonia 6); and The Family. He also wrote numerous hits for the above protégés and major artists. I remain a fan of both artists.

Many guys back then and most guys today assume he was too effeminate to be straight; couldn’t have been both. It wasn’t a second thought in the minds of women. He sang to us, sensually and with passionate funky fun. We were enviously jealous of the women he preformed with. He was in-tune with women, understanding what they liked and what they wanted from their man (look, style, talent, confident, creative). Many times to get that deeper connection of understanding, men have to show that sensitive, awkward, effeminate side. With Prince nearly everything he did was an endearing turn-on (even the ass-out yellow outfit). He knew women thought he had a fine ass and he wasn’t afraid to show us. Just keep in mind who Prince was singing to and preforming for; it wasn’t gay men or drag queens. We were his target audience so whichever guy we happened to be dating or dancing with at the time, was along for the Prince ride whether they liked it or not. 😂

I was lucky to see Prince in concert here in Houston. Michael Jackson was and still is the king of pop, but Prince didn't create pop music. I personally believe he was one of the best musicians ever….he wrote, composed, and sang every album …he mastered over 30 musical instruments…Prince was the epitome of musical genius. Here's a list of Prince songs i think you should react to. If i say album version, music video version, or live version its because Prince would often cut stuff about the music video and Prince live was way different than in the studio. 'Nothing Compares 2 U Live At Paisley Park 1999' You probably heard Sinéad O'Connor version but it was originally written by Prince. 'Controversy' album version. '1999' album version. 'Little Red Corvette' music video version. 'Raspberry Beret' music video version. 'Pop Life' album version. 'Girls & Boys' album version. 'Kiss' music video version. 'Sometimes It Snows In April' album version. 'I Wanna Be Your Lover' album version. 'Sign O' The Times' music video version. And there so much more also there's often a lot of copyright problems with. Prince's music so i don't know if you're going to be able to react to some of these songs.
