Best thing about Stevie is that He’s a 1 man band! He plays drums, keyboard bass, piano, synthesizer, clavinet (that’s the funky keyboard used in this song) and of course harmonica! Stevie played every instrument in this song except for the horns, and did that for like 90% of the songs he’s made. Truly one of the music goats!!!

Another thing he did with this song. Think about how braille works. The black keys would be easier for a blind person to sense, SO he wrote this song and maybe others in a way to play almost all black keys, E flat minor. I spent my whole life thinking this was a guitar and wondered how somebody could pick these notes to make it sound this good. Watch this video where someone shows most of the music on a piano from above. It's one minute before the first white key is played. kzitem.info/news/bejne/0W2kyHawgWR-g34

Dear Lord in Heaven thank you for whoever requested this song so you could react to it. My daughter is 25 years old and her favorite singer is Stevie Wonder ( when the pandemic hit she said to me “we must find a way to keep him safe! We need to bubble wrap him) I just cried from laughter but she was so afraid something would happen to her favorite singer before she even got to see him in concert! She and I love him. Our favorites beside this one are “Sir Duke”, “Higher Ground”, “My Cherie Amour”, “Isn’t she lovely” and “Overjoyed”. Please react to any of those if you are able. If you react to Higher Ground, please make sure to react to the Red Hot Chili Peppers version. I really enjoy your channel! You guys are just adorable, funny and insightful! Thank you!! ❤️

Back in the day ( 1967 it was ) me and my mate were outside the Cavern in Liverpool early in the afternoon. Steve Wonder walked out after rehearsing there/ Me and my mate ended up walking along Mathew Street ( where the Cavern ) with him catting away. Later in the afternoon we were in there watching him perform. What a show, at one stage he chased his band off the stage and played every instrument. Fabulous entertainer, singer and song writer. Great memory.

Stevie and I are about the same age. I first saw him when he was only THIRTEEN years old -- on a show which, if I'm remembering correctly, was called "American Bandstand". He is a genius and, I believe not only wrote songs, but did the arrangement down to the nth degree. His 2-record album "Songs in the Key of Life" is nothing short of a spark of genius. If he never did anything else, he would still be called a genius -- just for that one album.

Stevie Wonder has been a favorite of mine since I was a tiny child. I always heard him on the radio and he was always my favorite of all the hit songs. When I was turning 5 they came out with a K-tel greatest hits album for Stevie Wonder. That's what I asked for from my parents for my 5th birthday! And my mom got it for me! Well into my adulthood, I found out that Stevie and I share the same birthday, May 13th! (Also shared with Steven Colbert) That just was an a-ha moment for why Stevie Wonder has always meant all the world to me!

These kids have literally grown up without a music history. In many places, nothing but the favorite auto-tuned artists of the moment get played. No old videos get played. My sister was going through a brutal divorce and was crushed. "Songs in the key of Life" was the CD I gave her . Pleaded with her to listen to it to give her strength.. Stevie Wonder is a force of nature

Love piano? Check out Call Me The Breeze by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Best piano solo ever, and the guitars kill it too!

Agreed! Billy Powell was an amazing pianist who was actually a classically trained piano player.

It's in the same key, too. ( Em ) Used to combine both songs in a band, years ago.

You know you're getting so much older when it blows your mind that some people have never heard a song like this before. It's like... WHAT? I was brought up on this music. My parents gave it to me in my DNA. LOL

Genius. Eddie Murphy in a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, were discussing genius.Eddie Murphy said Stevie Wonder, Prince and Paul McCartney are and were on a level that you could see and feel when he met them, not just musically, just genius hands down.

Stevie Wonder and Elton John have one thing in common. They both record songs that do not require a piano on occasion and they are great songs too!

Yes that was it! He said the guy was in jail and when he got out the fish were dead? Am I remembering correctly? It was his favorite part of the movie.

As I'm sure many other people have mentioned, Stevie Wonder is an amazing musician: vocalist, instrumentalist, and composer. And he got started performing professionally as a young boy and was dubbed "Little Stevie Wonder" back then. "Superstition" is one of my favorites. That beat and bass line are ICONIC. I don't know how you can listen to this song and not start moving your body and be put into a better mood!
