If I am not mistaking the female voice is Ofra Haza. The band Sisters of Mercy was an outstanding and original band. They are known as one of the godfathers of gothic and industrial sound in pop, rock or even metal genres.

It's most likely Ofra, but it could be Patricia Morrison, despite what Andrew claims, Patricia did contribute bass and vocals.

SoM originally recorded this in the '80s, they reintroduced the song with the addition of Ofra Haza's mezzo-soprano vocals and became a top-ten hit in the UK and Germany in 1992. There's a really good longer version of this song. A great band, part of the British goth rock scene of the 80s and 90s with The Mission and Fields of the Nephilim all charting songs at the time.

As a Brown becoming gay teen in the 80s dancing to 5 AM in the underground spots for all us freaks, when this song came on I would take over the dancefloor with my pointy skull boots, black leather jacket covered in broken glass and my black viel! LOL! This band helped me figure a lot of shit out! This is in my top 10 songs of all time... but this is the second version, which is amazing and gave Ofra Haza a name outside the Middle East, she is not on the original version. She was a Yemeni Israeli singer and was part of the the Jewsih ethnicities' folk revival happening in Israel at the time.
