Yeah definitely Wild Thing was influenced by Push It by Salt N Pepa. His came out in 1989 and theirs came in 1987. Both funky cool dance songs 💯

Part of this song was used in a good movie called Uncle Buck and it was with a big huge guy named John Candy who is from Canada where I'm from it is worth watching because it's really fun and it's also the first time you see Macaulay Culkin in a movie debut sadly John Candy passed away quite suddenly while he was making a movie and he didn't finish it but his stunt double did

This song was tied to the rape of the Central Park Jogger case. A large group of teenagers terrorized people in the park. After the arrest of some, they said they were "doing the wild thing". The police misheard and wrote down that they were "wilding". It didn't hurt the song, but it did hurt the falsely accused.

In 1989 0r 90 he came to Camp Lejeune NC. It was on base in our field house. Well the show started with wild thing about 30 seconds into it the CD started skipping. His ass got busted, he was lip sinking. He was so embarrassed he apologized for a couple minutes. Picked up the mic and rolled with it. I think it was only12 dollars, we still had a good time.
