Glad you enjoyed Boston so much. Today is May 20, 2022 and the next two days are supposed to reach 98 degrees. If you had just come a week or so later you would not have been so cold. :) One minor point. Common mistake - the stones on little picturesque Acorn Street are not cobble stones. They are actually ballast stones. These were taken from the bottom of English merchant ships and replaced with goods being shipped from Massachusetts to England. Ballast stones are round. Cobble stones are rectangular and flat. Streets made of ballast stones are extremely rare.

Hi, guys: Boston is one of our favorite cities. We’ve spent about 8 days there on a couple different trips. But you made it look even more fun! If you get more days there, definitely check out Faneuil Hall, the Aquarium, take a sailboat tour, go whale watching, check out a restaurant or two down at the pier, and get over for a Harvard Tour done by a real student. The Sox Stadium is also cool. My favorite restaurant in the North End is Limoncello. Have a fantastic cruise, from South Florida!

I learned some things because I've never been 'a tourist' here before..lol I've walked by Cheers but never ate there. Thank you for the price warning! I grew up watching Cheers and loved it! Pizzeria Regina is my favorite pizza! It's 'wicked good'..lol 😉 Food court/market ones are so good but never as good as the original restaurant in the North end( near faneuil hall). The weather has been soooo much worse than I've ever seen it here! It has us all scratching our heads..lol while you guys were talking about the Bell in Hand tavern behind you is a very emotional but incredibly done memorial to the Holocaust. Did you guys have a chance to walk through it? It's very hard but important... Thank you for this very enjoyable video of Boston! 💜😀

Boston is a great city! Spent five years there during the middle of my career. Great food everywhere and you can walk to everything. Can't wait to stop there again in July on the Caribbean Princess on the way to Quebec City in July! I remember some years where it did not get reliably warm until the beginning of July. The weather can be awful though August and September were always great. They used to say the four seasons were Fall, Winter, More Winter, and Road Construction. Fun video and yes, Cheers is a total tourist trap, LOL.

Great vlog. Always fun to see how out of towners see the city you grew up in. But, you should have stopped to get lunch in the North End. Oh, the building you were commenting on at the beginning is the Custom House. Used to be a typical landmark we used while sailing in Boston Harbor. And, for a long time was one of the tallest buildings in that part of the city. One of the strange things when you grow up in a city like Boston is you never visit the "touristy areas" like Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market/Cheers unless someone comes to visit. For example, I never stepped on the Constitution until I lived 3 hours away. BTW, Boston doesn't do chocolate chip cookies, it's toll house cookies. It might have been too early in the year, but the Boston Public Garden and the Boston Common (as opposed to "the Gaaden" where the Celtics and the Bruins play) downtown are always fun and the swan boats in the Public Garden are iconic. Interesting thing about downtown Boston is the crazy maze of streets around Beacon Hill is the direct result of roads roads being constructed on existing cow paths. Final thing is Boston's classic walking tour, the Freedom Trail. Takes you by many of the Revolutionary War sites in Boston, including The Old North Church, Paul Revere's House and a lot of great old cemeteries.

Glad you enjoyed! Welcome to Boston, sorry you had a cold weekend. Usually we get 70-80 degree weather in mid-may, so you must have just missed the warmer weather. Come back soon! We can give you some other big things to hit. The lion and the unicorn on the old state house (or British customs house) are actually symbols of the British empire.
