This is about the continuity of life, one baby is born and an old mother dies, this is by natural process. This song is about the miracle of life and death, which few people understand, and I mean no insult you still do not understand. It is a simple video and a beautiful song, please listen to it again and realize it is about two women and not one. Then maybe allow yourself to cry in the glory of the miracle.

Great song from a very underrated band. A good song from them to react to would be "Selling the Drama". You did miss the meaning of the song quite a bit. The song is about the continuity of life. While a woman dies in one room, a baby is born in another room. Life continues always despite death. The pale bald lady walking around is the angel referred to in the song.

I grew up in the 70s.. Loving bands and music from that era. Then the 80s came there were bands that I enjoyed from that era. 90S became difficult then I discover live... There are only two bands that came from this era that I have every album of.... live is one of them.

Such a wicked song. The first time I heard it I was getting a ride home from college classes in the winter of 1998. This song was playing and I asked my friend who the song was song by. She said it is Live. I said Cool, but who is the band? She said Live. I clued in, lol. In my defense it was -37°. Brain freeze defense.

This song is so powerful! Glad you listened to it, K.S.O. And, if I may say, I miss it when you read the lyrics after listening to the song. I like that you watch the music videos more now. I'm sure that makes for more interesting KZitem videos, but it is easy to get distracted by the visuals of what you're watching and miss some of the lyrics. I, for one, would be glad if you brought back the lyric-reading at the end of your videos. :-)

This song is about reincarnation. "The confusion that's hers belongs now to the baby down the hall. "Lightning crashes ...when charge builds up in the sky and strikes the earth ....charge returning to Earth. Lightning is an energy that is being transferred from sky to earth and connects heaven and earth. He is using the analogy of lightning crashing to o explain the reincarnation process. A soul dies and that charge Or soul rises to heaven.... When it is called upon ....that charge or soul returns to earth ..."I can feel it coming back again" Hope this helps ...the lead singer Ed K was very into eastern philosophy and spirituality during this time. Their follow up album was Secret Samadhi ....Samadhi being a Sanskrit word for spiritual realisation. My favourite song I Alone is a hard song to interpret but there is something about that song that if it plays in the middle of the night and I'm asleep (I usually forget to switch the radio off"...it wakes me up. I jokingly call it the song that awakens the sleeper

The events you are describing actually happen in two different appartments in the same building. A new mother giving birth and an old mother dying. And the old mother's confusion 'belongs now to the baby down the hall' as one of the lines states. I think that pale person was the 'angel' that kept getting mentioned, and was probably the one doing all that handing out the confusion to the baby and stuff.

A new mother cries. Down the hall, an old mother dies. Completely unrelated, except it's a hospital where people are born and die. This nonsense happens all the time. About as often as lightning crashes. Oh, you need the coins to pay the ferryman, Charon.
