Wear full gear homie. Get padded/leather jacket and riding pants. Skin graphs are no fun. Wear riding boots, those shoes will rip off you in a heart beat. 2 hands on bars in traffic always have a finger over front break and one on clutch. All controls should be covered. Stay safe out there and welcome to the family.

Nice! I remember feeling a little hesitant in really sending it during the break in period. I tried to adhere to recommended break in protocols as much as possible during that time (only 600mi). Being a brand new machine, those rings are seating still, etc. Not sure how big of a difference it really makes tbh. Recommend a Quad Lock case and mount for your handlbar or brake reservoir. And definitely earplugs. I'm using the earpeace brand and they work awesome!

When I seen pictures of that bike, I really didn't like it. I rode to my local Yamaha dealer to get oil for my bike and they had one on the showroom floor. It is much nicer in person. Anyways, one thing you could do when you're riding in areas with side streets where cars can pull out in front of you is to cover your front brake with a couple fingers for a quicker reaction time just in case you need to emergency brake. You are doing good and enjoy the ride and be safe.

I know it's the break-in period but you've got to think about the RPM's as a range instead of focusing on the number.
