Hi Britt, Back in the day, singers & groups had to perform "LIVE" on The Midnight Special and this showed the world whether you were good or not; there was no lip-syncing or hiding behind your studio recordings and definitely no auto-tune!!! Needless to say, if you performed well on the show your record sales would skyrocket; but if you performed poorly your record sales would tank!!! In other words they had to deliver the goods!!! Thanks for this reaction too, because as you can see & hear Elvin Bishop & his band did their thing!!!

Nice! Oh, yeah; this song was a groove! And it was on the radio *all* the time back then. It really takes me back. Elvin Bishop, the guitarist here, was formerly a legit South Chicago blues player, BTW. Also BTW, I ain't gonna challenge your fashion takes here, but I *will* tell you that if Mickey hadn't had body guards he would probably gotten his butt stomped walking down the street wearing a getup like that; at least in the places I lived. Some folks were *really* unkind that way. :) Don't get me wrong --- I wore some pretty outlandish things back then; things you couldn't buy. But I also knew I was asking for trouble. And along with the cloth, my young self often displayed a distinct lack of common sense.
