Thanks for appreciating our beloved Karen. The Carpenters songs created a lush and beautiful soundtrack for our lives during a much safer, simpler time. ❤

They were so good. Her brother is on the piano. I grew up with all their music in from the early 70’s till she passed away. RIP KAREN❤❤❤❤

Richard Carpenter is an effing musical genius! The entire Carpenters sound was due to his arrangements...

Her brother, Richard, is the keyboard/piano player. He did all the arrangements as well. RIP Karen

Love seeing your Carpenters journey continue! Karen’s older brother, Richard, is on keyboards. Yes Karen could play drums and sing simultaneously. Unless she was going nuts on the drums, then one at a time. I’ll link a live performance of the song Mr. Guder from an appearance on The Tonight Show in 1973. It has Karen live on the drums and a solo. Pure Magic. The video is a restored version of an original that was barely watchable. This one is beautiful just you may want to lower the resolution to,720p or 480p so it doesn’t stutter. It will still look great just less data going through. Enjoy! They have alot of pop songs they owned the 70's and just think she didn't even want to sing she just liked to drum, till her bro heard her and made be lead vocal...and the rest is history.

There is no choir in the background. It is just Karen and her brother Richard in stacked vocal harmonies.

They are actually lip-syncing to the studio version of the song. In this studio version, Karen was not actually playing the drums... the studio version had Hal Blaine playing the drums. Karen could sing and play drums, but this video is just lip syncing and someone other than Karen was drumming.

plenty of live footage of her playing and she did play on some of the studio recordings.... the Bacharach medley outdoors is one classic example...plus a full concert in australia

@@eggy1962 I'm not questioning that she can play drums and sing. She was a good drummer and an excellent singer. My point is that she is lip-syncing in this video, and was not the actual drummer for the recording of the song in this video.
