you should definetly watch his original verion of "unravel" as well ! I recommend reacting to "【MV】six feet under / Mori Calliope (produced by TK)". This is, like the brackets say, produced by TK for a famous Vtuber(=virtual youtuber) called Mori Calliope. It is funny that you mentioned Chester Bennington here because that song especially gives me some Linkin Park Vibes. another amazing song of TK is "TK from 凛として時雨 『Signal』" a vtuber original song by Nana Asteria I can recommend is "Call Unto You/ Nana Asteria [Official MV]" and also Hayato Kagami with his song "Within" (【MV】加賀美ハヤト - WITHIN【にじさんじ】)

Some added analysis coming from a Japanese person: His use of consonants is genius. He replaced the w in theをin the phrase 「その仕組みを」(Sono Shikimi wo)for a f to add breathiness to the vowel. Also, at the section where he repeats the phrase 動けない (ugokenai) he adds a K before the U sound to separate the phrases clearly. Subtle usage of consonants helping his singing immensely. Well played.
@billy1998vn
9 ай бұрын
Yess, I feel like he specifically wrote the lyrics with the registers in mind. Like you said, the "k" consonant was meant to help with closure for the head voice belt. He also chose very specific words so that the highest note in the song will be sung in a dark vowel. "Mitsukenaide", "Oboeteite", "Omoidashite", "Wasurenaide". The second vowel for all of these words is very dark, which would help him go into the falsetto register for the highest note in the song. Still, I had no idea how he could break in and out of falsetto that high and do it over and over again (that G#5 is repeated 11 times throughout the song). TK is a genius.

it's しくみ (shikumi) and young singers (or the newer generation) tend to add "western" sounds a lot to their pronunciations while they are singing to add some "modern" flavor like "vo" instead of "wo" or suffixes such as "-ruw" instead of "-ru" and "-teow" instead of "-te" and a lot more other details.
@maAdcity

TK is self taught and hasn't had any vocal coaching yet, he wants to but he hasn't gotten to it yet. And the reason he sings so high, is because the studio he used to do band practice in drowned out his vocals because he was more focused on the guitar. So to hear his own vocals, he would sing an octave higher which seemed to help. At first his voice would break a lot, but at some point it just stopped.

One thing to note about Kyo is that he does not use healthy techniques for some of the stuff he does, and has had to tone down a lot of the extreme stuff more recently because he's damaged his voice. That's not to take away from what he does, just to point out that sometimes vocal coaches make the assumption that someone has found a way to make stuff work safely when that's not necessarily true.

@SM-by1od Only lack to say he should watch always his live performances, videos are disturbing and difficult to focus on the songs. Diabolos is a great song, although maybe something shorter as "Diferent Sense" would be more suitable for being analized. @@Bobbias That was almost a decade ago. He changed he's approach to singning and it seems its working fine. Before 2012 he had several periods where he was not able to perform diagnosed with vocal cords damage but now it's been years without further complications. Taking into account he's very active being frontman on 3 bands already, if his techniques were not healthy he would have relapsed many times.
