I have seen and heard John many times . He is a blues boy too, Staight up. You just don't make alot of money recording it. Him, Johnny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. All fabulous Younger blues players. Love these guys. And you have to put Bonnie Raitt on the top of blues women, she is my hero. And Beth Hart who i just resently found a few years ago. Without the blues there would be no Rock and Roll. Most all English bands were influenced by the old blues guys, including The Beatles.

People rip on John Mayer cuz he went through a period early on when his ego got out of control but this mature John Mayer is still a master guitarist who is exceptionally gifted. You don’t get invited to sit in with BB if you ain’t for real.🤘🏼

I’m 62 years old...born and raised slap dab in the heart of the Mississippi Delta where the blues was born. BB is a master, along with many more. You want the blues? Listen to BB’s live performance at Singh Singh Prison “How Blue Can You Get?” (which he considered his best live performance), along with “The Thrill Is Gone” (his best known song) for starters. Muddy Waters (real name McKinley Morganfield) “Got My Mojo Workin”, “Mannish Boy”, and “The Blues Had A Baby.” Howlin’ Wolf (real name Chester Arthur Burnett) “Highway 49” and “Smokestack Lightnin’.” Once you have mastered these, Grasshopper, I will tell you more. 😬. There’s a world of blues, but you have to hear the originals first to truly appreciate it. The Rolling Stones idolized Muddy Waters and got their name from his song “Rollin’ Stone.” Led Zeppelin is another band that is rooted in these men and others. Looking forward to your reaction. You’re welcomed!

Now you are speaking at my langauge. Being from Memphis I have had the pleasure of seeing these two live several times. We have a three day festival the first week of every May. They have played there alot. 4 stages, but the blues stage was the best. Alot of the old guys have passed. I have a guitar pick of Buddy Guy he gave to my son who was on the stage watching him. He is great too. Nice guy . Blues Boy King grew up playing Beale street. A black area of Memphis where all the blues players hung down by the MS River. They weren't allowed to go to the white areas of town So this was theirs. Great history of the best blues players around. It had run down and died out for yrs but they have Built it up again. BB put his first club there. Him and Elvis were good friends Playing there. Elvis lived close by there as a young man and hung out there alot. If you love the blues it is still on Beale St. Isn't this GREAT!!!!

He has told the story of Lucille several times. Back in the day when he first started he was touring the "chitlin circuit" and barely making it. In one such juke joint two guys got into a fight over a woman and knocked over an oil lamp which started the place on fire. Everyone ran but once BB got outside he realized that he had left his guitar in the bar. Since it was his only source of income he ignored warnings and ran back into the burning building to rescue it. After he made it back out someone asked him what his guitar's name was? When BB said it didn't have one the guy replied "seems to me if it is worth risking your life over it should at least have a name"! That night BB named the guitar Lucille after the woman the two guys were fighting over!

I have been meaning to tell you about John Mayer!! He does lots of SRV covers and even got to be the speaker at SRV & DOUBLE TROUBLE’s induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. John Mayer can play the guitar like SRV more than anyone i have ever heard AND when he SOUNDS like him! When John Mayer came out with “Your Body is a Wonderland”, I got the cd and eventually trashed it because I didn’t care for the other songs. Then, a few years later, i hear John Mayer again singing “Gravity” and ive been obsessed with his fine ass ever since! The first time my husband ever heard John Mayer, he said, “I didn’t know you like Stevie Ray Vaughan, and, I’ve never heard this song”. It all started making sense when I saw the huge SRV tattoo on John Mayer’s bicep 😍🥰😛😍 and when you hear him speak about SRV. I HAVE A TATTOO OF SOME OF THE LYRICS OF THIS SONG, “GRAVITY” kzitem.info/news/bejne/k3l-rGhmkH99fGU Oh, and watch the video of SRV & Double Trouble being inducted into Rock Hall of Fame 2015 John Mayer LIVE at Nokia theater ~ ALL of those songs and videos are amazing. Excited to see that you have finally heard John Mayer, he is my absolute favorite 😘🥰😍

I'm 49 years old. As a young man, I had the honor and pleasure to meet three giants... In October, 1990, I was humbled to be granted an audience with His Holiness Pope Saint John Paul. Although I'm no longer particularly religious, I still carry the rosary he blessed for me. In March, 1993, I met my literary hero, Kurt Vonnegut. The copy of Slaughterhouse Five he signed for me occupies an honored place on my bookshelf. In February, 1997, I shook BB King's hand after a stunning performance. To be counted with a literal Catholic saint and arguably the greatest American humorist and novelist of the 20th Century is quite something. To be the most cherished experience of the three speaks volumes for the man. RIP, BB.
