Not entirely true, there were many back in those days who were the typical feminist r'tards writing many complaints and phoning Fox, however Fox was still brand new and the controversy surrounding it was actually getting it more viewers the more they advertised people complaining about it on the news and in publications. You see the complaining from feminists made it even more popular, kinda like how social media finds things offensive so they talk about how much it offends their stupid progressive feefees and normal people go ahead and make that thing extremely profitable, Like Hogwarts Legacy, Joker movie etc. The Streisand effect has always existed.

I'm from Finland and 'Married with Children' was hugely successful here. If you watched most of the seasons you were to understand that since everything was taken to the extreme and no-one was spared from insults, it was a surprisingly equal TV series which after all did not offend anyone, rather it made fun of being mean to each other.

Al's best insult ever wasn't even in the show. The actor that played Al (Ed O'Neal) had a real off camera feud with Amanda Bearse (Marcy). The whole cast was invited to her lesbian wedding except actor Ed and David Faustino who played Bud. Ed eventually asked Amanda why she didn't invite him to her wedding. She stated that he would probably have made fun of her dressed in a tux at the wedding. Ed then said "Yup" to her LOL!
