The best thing about this movie when it came out was that most people did NOT know about Snipes studying martial arts for years. So when we were able to see him on the big screen doing his own fights, it blew our minds. Not only did it help to "sell the character", but for those of us of a certain age, it cemented Snipes as Blade in the same way that Al Pacino is cemented as Scarface or Michael Corleone. It became somewhat of a "touchstone" for a character/actor that has remained for decades.

Blade is Wesley Snipes, Wesley Snipes is Blade, a remake without Wesley Snipes as Blade, just can't ever be a Blade movie, as no one can copy Wesley Snipes acting and personality and his martial arts training, and also, even if Wesley Snipes was given the role again to do Blade, he's a lot older now... might not be the same level/speed of martial arts as back when Blade 1-2 came out when he was much younger than he is now when Alita Battle Angel came out 2 years ago, Mahalshala (can't spell) as Vector, looked like a good replacement for Wesley Snipes as Blade, but even if he looks the part, and however good he is at acting (which he's very good at acting), I doubt even he can copy Wesley's acting and his unique personalty, which is what makes Blade, Blade, lol, and then there's the whole martial arts aspect too, even with really good fight choreographers and etc tricks, you can't fake real martial arts training/ability, that Wesley Snipes has

Blade 2 is fantastic. One of the first American films directed by Guillermo del Toro. So much fun! Plus, Blade gets a squad with Ron Perlman and Donnie Yen!

I remember Blade from the comics The Tomb of Dracula. I had a few of those, specifically the number of his first appareance with a 70s looking (afro style hair) but i forgot about him until this movie came out many years later. The concept of the character is really cool and Wesley nailed it perfect.

This movie definitely caught me by surprise, as I didn't expect it to be so HARDCORE! From the Music to the Exploding Heads to the Fantastic Fight scenes. I'm really curious to see how the MCU's Blade will be...

Anyone remember Wesley Snipes challenging Joe Rogan to fight?? Shame that never happened.
@houseofaction
3 жыл бұрын
so you want to see Snipes get his ass kicked? snipes is a legitimate black belt but Rogan has a higher level of black belt and his kick is legitimately insane so much so that George St pier said he would hate to get kicked by Joe Rogan. and joe has the highest powerkube score and is a black belt in various forms of grappling

I saw this in theaters, I took my little brother who kept trying to talk me out of watching it. He was pissed that we were watching so “Stupid Vampire Movie” literally after the opening scene at Club Blood he said “this is gonna be good” I think Wesley was born to play Blade. He does the same for this character as Robert Downey Jr did for Ironman. Can’t wait for you to watch the next two

Imagine if the first and second movie didn't exist, then the 3rd might actually be good. But compaired to the two other, it's really bad, and it's a shame because Ryan Reynolds is funny and Jessica Biel is really hot!! :-)

Haven’t seen these movies in so long bro but love them. I feel like a lot of people forget about the blade series and that he is marvel. Wesley is the one and only blade he portrayed the role go perfection. Can’t wait for blade 2 and trinity reactions 😎

In the comic Blade is actually a British character. He was americanized for the movie version. He first appeared in the Tomb of Dracula series and later got his own spin-off comic.

The cool thing about the Blade costume design was - the vampires came out of those capes and into leather trench coats - just look at Underworld's Selene and the Death Dealers. No capes and dressed like Blade going into battle looking bad ass...

One small fact A prison sentence for tax evasion held up a fourth film. Though a reboot was on the table once Marvel got the filming rights back from New Line Cinema, and officially announced in July 2019. Glad you liked the film this was my grandfathers favourite and I watched it a few time wish I watch it more with him before he passed this brought a smile to my face. Credit to TV tropes for the fact

Yay! You're the first person I've seen to react to Blade. Hands down one of my favorite movies but I will admit I like Blade 2 even more. New sub here 🦇 Random but the greasy headed guy who rolls in the burnt vampire on a gurney is a really old friend of mine named Clint. Haven't seen him in about 25 years..until I first saw him in Blade. Tripped me out!
