I must say that I am very impressed. You know what you are doing. I like your front DWF solution. With a slotted front section, you will be able to extract more DWF, as with such a high AoA, there should be separation there. I like your cooling solutions. You went very aggressive with the front rad, which I absolutely love. Its not only good for aero but it also uses the rad as an effective crash structure. I like the positioning of the intercoolers. Tight, yet effective. The only part which makes me slightly sad is the rear diffuser. You have the space to go much more aggressive without fears of separation. As a stopgap solution to help with high speed oversteer, I would simply cut rectangular sections on the diffuser, and create a rudimentary double diffuser. It won't take too much time but it will drastically increase the pressure delta. Since you have enough power to play with, just "go crazy" at it. Use VGs to attach flow wherever needed. Slot the strakes to minimize tire squirt. You can afford the drag. You went conservative on safety (which is always imperative). The chassis seems to have good stiffness. Overall, It is a beautiful, well thought, well processed project. My sincere compliments!

Also, i don't understand the black flag, you weren't doing anything wrong. Was there a car closely trailing you while you were stepping it out? We get loose on corners all the time without flags.

Hey, I just noticed you have air filters with metal caps in the center. You should look at what happens to them on a turbo. The glue used gets softer from heat cycles and the turbo will suck the cap off into the impeller killing the turbos.

@Split10uk
4 жыл бұрын
I'd like to know that as well. Lets bump this question up.
@AmirPomen
4 жыл бұрын
Since it was a trackday, i would say a simple inspection like: 1-good harness anchor point and harness condition itself 2-fixed seat mount/rail bracket 3-no visible oil leak on engine and drivetrain (at some trackday will require you to have a certain minimum capacity of oil catch tank installed) 4- no loose part/panel hanging around that have potential to fly away at speed... And i think thats enough to cover the basi of safety/tech inspection of any vehicle took part in trackday
@xfmotorsports
4 жыл бұрын
Lol most people don't even know it's homemade. With all the radicals and ariel atoms out there, they think it's the same type of deal. It meets all the safety requirements so tech doesn't give any trouble.

Of note, in the wet and the car being so unstable: With that aggressive front splitter (the large cutouts) and no rear wing, the aero bias is forward. (despite having the diffuser). The front tires are the fulcrum, and thus lifts the rear wheels. The wet (and low grip) conditions seemed to highlight this.

3:56 I just noticed the trailer hitch adapter from 1 1/4 to 2" That adapter is only to be used for bike racks / rear cargo trays and even then the weight rating needs to be reduced by 50 %. Our guy is getting away with this in the short term only because the towed load is on the lower side. Try this with a regular car on the trailer and the hitch might break off due to fatigue. Also, the extended length is one reason why the rear of the car is sagging.

I think with all those vibration and stuff.. u really need to replace the support cable with some sort of aluminium support rod instead... It looks like the suspension may be too soft spring wise (i cannot comment on the hydraulics for obvious reasons), it had a lot of travel despite the fact that you were taking the car for a stroll in the park. How did you calculate their ideal stiffness? Also... you have way too many gauges. Have you considered moving to a proper dashboard? They are expensive but make both quick reads and datalogs a breeze to handle. Depending on the ECU you use it may be a matter of connecting 4 wires...

(then add wind chill at speed) in an enduro kart race there, a long time ago. That was a little cold.) 3) Don't park your rig in a spot that you can get blocked in. Bring a tongue jack wheel if you plan to. 4) You can actually buy a decent race car now and not waste a bunch of time trying to re-invent the wheel... but I admire your effort! 5) Slicks don't work to well in the rain.
