I have a Sony A7r4, then I added the Fuji x100v, then a Leica Q2 mono, leading to a Leica M11 with a Voigtlander APO 50mm f2. I love the M11. Between the Q2 Mono and the M11, they have become my two everyday cameras. As for the screen protector, I bought a very cheap one on Amazon for $4.99. It has been there for about a year with no problems. Have fun with your new camera.

I recently got a used first gen Leica Q, and last weekend did a trip with that + X-Pro3 and a 27mm f2.8 on it. That proved to be a fantastic travel combo! Leica Q especially for tighter spaces and when there was less light, Fuji otherwise for weather resistance and supremely versatile focal length, which I definitely prefer to 35mm, but is a bit more forgiving compared to a 50mm equivalent.

@@defqqq Yes. But what those You Tubers ignore is that when the "famous old master photographers" used Leica, there were not as many high-quality alternatives as there are now. Many of those photographers used other cameras too - Exakta, Rolleiflex, Contax, Speed Graphic, etc. Those photographers did not become "famous old master photographers" because of the cameras they used. It was because of their vision and technique. It's always interesting to me how one person on You Tube posts a video and in a matter of days, every other You Tuber on that subject is saying the same thing.

USB-C charging is great on the M11 and the battery is actually quite good on the M11. The choice of usbc cable is important and that usb cable will also let the camera connect easily to your iPad or iPhone so you can check and share images quickly.

I love those photos! The light there is magical, as is the architecture. I have the M11 as well. I suspect your finicky charging experience was due to the cable. One reason for the high cost of some Leica batteries (SL and Q series as well as the M11) is that they are and have to be bespoke because they act as part of the weather sealed bottom plates. As for dual card slots, I doubt there is room for a second slot. If you look at an exploded diagram, you’ll notice that compact body is absolutely crammed full of electronics and the rangefinder.

Firts and foremost, I wish you joy wih the M11. May you make great images. Now for the hard facts! Never take an untested camera on a trip. Old id gold! If, if a long word for me! If I added a new camera, digital of course.Leica would be last or not at all. I love my M3,M2 and like my M6TTL. 50mm Collapsible Summicron f2, 135mm Tele Elmar (it's an APO, even if not stated. and 35mm Goggles-Summaron f2.8, that i adore! Very basic kit, the M6 now 23 years old! M3 is 56 years in my pro/personal use! I love digital, but think these high 60Mp numbers are plain silly. The Fuji with it's features is better than the M11. I used Voiglander lenses in a test. They were not equal of my Leitz lenses, on film. Maybe digital is better. $500 for a battery! Insane! Truth tell, I prefer DSLR not mirroless. I hate the' flashing'! of that screen. L$ 30 for sticky see thru screen protector!Let's see yor images! Sure they are great. You like difficult cameras! Sony with that menu! Geez! I have Minolta digital, slightly before take over(Minolta/Konica/Sony all in mine) Menu after +12 years a puzzle! All best! My opinion.

On Fuji - If you save RAW to one card and JPG to the other, it will only delete from the card you have selected in review mode. So if you select to review on the JPG card, if someone asks you to delete a photo they can watch you select it, hit delete and OK etc, but you'll still have the RAW on the other card.

Congrats for the new camera but as a xpro3 user and fan, watching your reservations from a 30 pounds Leica screen protector to the option of keeping only one battery 😅 or other constrains on a such expensive camera… may I say: if for some reason I would take the decision of migrating to full frame on the same compact body format, Sony a7c would be my choice and with the bunch of money that I would spare, I would buy really decent glass and extra batteries. Don’t take me wrong, I do respect the emotional decision of someone changing to Leica. I just think that Leica isn’t a work horse or I would not put my head on the line with such particular gear. In spite of myself using manual focal lenses on my xpro3, I do not use it professionally and I’m not spending money on niche products. For me, IMHO, xpro3 is the perfect gear on apsc sensor size, the optimal compact choice on full frame with interchangeable lenses would be the Sony a7c with a great viewfinder btw. But I’ll keep flowing your adventures and congrats for the trip and great images.
