@derick blackwell yes they do.. there was no probable cause to execute a search.. they had no reason to believe he was committing a crime. They can ask to see his fishing license, and if he can't produce it then they can confiscate his gear and give him a ticket. That's about it. Having said that, I felt the DFW wardens' interaction with this gentleman was quite overbearing considering the nature of what they were investigating. I've seen it over and over again, DFW wardens seem to subconsciously assume that fishermen/hunters are criminals on some level. Rather than problem solving like most law enforcement officers, DFW wardens seem to assume everyone is guilty of something, look for even the smallest violations with great determination, and enforce the letter of the law rather than the spirit.

If it was game wardens, then they are allow to check anything and everything on you while you are fishing or hunting. Yea they acted weird by going through his bag but they are allow too. In Texas game wardens are state police and can go almost anywhere in the state, I cant speak on other states.

On what? Being Asian. Pretty sure someone told something to the warden, like their some sus Asian fishing there go check. Maybe some white dude hating on Asian. This Asian guy don't even look dangerous, just fishing. Two warden have to just come check this one guy out only. These two warden could have go check on the hotspot where people are fishing. I know warden do do their job but looking for firearm, dang. How scary is this Asian guy who is just fishing alone who have a family to feed.
