The Gemini 3 is used strictly as an inductive locator. The TW-5 can be used in directly coupling to a pipe or cable. Otherwise the are the same.

How is this unit different from the Fisher Labs Gemini 3 and can you tell what kind of metal it is detecting?

So many questions unanswered on this video. Where do battery’s go ? How do you attach the handle ?? Will it pick up a civil war cannon ball at 3 feet ? Pinpointing ? Can it be used as a metal detector when handle is attached ??

I don't know. Mine I got without the pole and use it only for conductive locating.

I have an early version of this TW5 unit and when I got it, it had this weird 9 volt battery that looked like a 6 volt lantern battery but had 9 volt connection.. Couldn't find one at the time so I bought an 8 pack AA battery holder and soldered passed the last two batteries to get me 9 volts.Has worked great for many years on the same AA batteries. I'm wondering if the original battery is even made any more. Anyone know?

I'm trying to figure out what battery to put in it. Did you ever figure it out?

@@elijahflow I did eventually find the batteries but they were $26 each and I would have had to order them. I stuck with the AA's and still use it to this day. Sorry I don't remember much. I doubt they even make them anymore since this is maybe from the 60s or 70s. If you find them, they probably will not be cheap. A few years ago I located a 6 inch iron water main by hooking to fire hydrant and finding the pipe about 100 yards away that was 5 foot deep. Not bad for a $2 garage sale locator.
