After receiving some of the new lures by Samson Fishing, I ventured out early one morning to put them to the test. In this video I'll be using the Shad, a long casting, sub-surface lure designed by Grant Woodgate at Samson Fishing.
This lure can be worked in a variety of ways. By lifting the rod tip and tapping away at the rod, you can get it working with a 'walk the dog' action. You can also get it working just below the surface, imitating a fleeing baitfish. With it being a 'sinking' lure, you're able to fish it deeper in the water column when fishing deep water.
This lure casts extremely well and the sizes I had with me were 15g, 20g, 25g and 30g. Although they’re small in size, These lures will tempt bass in calm conditions (as shown in this video) and in very lively conditions with big swell and frothy water.
