I used to work for a firm where we would build upgraded brand new Defenders (back when the original was still in production). We used a lot of Britpart, and I found the quality to be very hit and miss. Good parts in theory, but sometimes you'd get a bad set. The peak fuckup was when I opened a full set of new Britpart wheelnuts, and found that three of them didn't have threads cut in them.

I'd imagine that setting fire to your bush can be a risky business. Good to see that no bush trimming was required, and that it slid in nicely without the use of force. I was surprised you didn't lube at all? Perhaps in this case a dry bush is better than a wet or lubed one? Looing forward to seeing the Brecon report.

Ratchet’s very talented, and can usually ram things home, dry, without lube.

well I fitted supergaz (britpart) shocks for my disco 2. it must have done a mile at the most in and out of a barn in about two years. and yep the front lower bushes fell apart. the chunks of bush on the floor had the same mechanical properties of stale cheese I cpuld literally bite them in half (I wanted to see if it tasted like cheese)

Why don't you press it out with a hydraulic jack??? It worked without problems and MUCH faster. BTW: ARB heavy duty Polybushes are also crap. Try it out on hardcore corrogated roads in Patagonie or Iceland. Brand new ARB HD Bushess under my rear and front shocks where completely EVAPORATED after 30 Minutes driving... My bush repair with a cut in half rubberer hammer head worked MUCH better and lastet the next 5 YEARS!!!
