I've only even been able to 540 during one session... a session where I was an assistant coach in my Tricking class, where I 'expected' it to fail because I've never landed it before. I told the class "Even if you do everything right, your first few might look like this" and demonstrated the best I could. I landed it... it took me completely by suprise, and after that I was like 'HOLY SH*T ! Yoo wait up... THIS IS MY FIRST TIME LANDING IT" and I did the setup and did it again just to be sure... and I landed it a second time, but better and I must have crumpled onto the ground crying in happiness because this trick has been impossible for me, for more than 5 years. My Tornado kick is pretty solid... it was my number two most drilled move I did as a kid, and I could do it in my sleep, but it never translated into a 540. Every attempt at a 540 prior to that, it's either turned out a Tornado Kick where my other foot lands eversoslightly after I throw my kick (Delayed landing Tornado Kick) or otherwise I don't even throw a proper 'kick' I just throw my leg up high enough so I could clear my kicking leg over my cheat leg... but it looks ugly and nothing like a 540 - bother attempts usually looking like an uncoordinated beginner child attempting the move. I spammed my newly acquired 540 several times during this session, but after attempt Number 7, fatigue in all the muscles around the groin and quads, as well as overall fatigue stopped me from drilling any more. Ironically, I got sick with the cold or flu several days after and was in bed for about a week... so it was two weeks later that I was able to go back to Tricking class. I lost it... I couldn't 540 again, even under the same conditions and doing the exact same thing. I dunno why, nothing I did seemed to work. This was just over a year ago, and I still can't 540... So I'm using this time in Quarantine to Jack Up my Quads, fix up my Tricking and finally get my 540.
