My wife, originally from Vietnam, has seen many Vietnamese 'get burnt' in Cambodia regarding investment. It's the 'Wild, Wild, West!'. The issue is corruption. You can easily skirt restrictions and laws in Cambodia by flashing a few USD at some official. That is why I would not do it. Many Chinese and foreigners are illegally exploiting the natural resources of Cambodia because of corruption. So, the moral is be careful and beware.
@pierre-oliviergagne1591

I live there and yes you definitely need to be careful. You need to make some good local contacts before investing there to not get ripped off. It's not as much the wild west as it used to be, but you're right that it's still very corrupt.

Once again nothing on Indonesia from NoMad Capitalist. Yes, you cannot buy property to in Indonesia, but the you have a progressive president in terms of the investment and it had one of the top, if not thee top growth last year in the region. I agree that Maylasia has probably the best for 2023, but cannot believe you did not include Indonesia or even mention it.

@@rettyt3456 Cost of living in Indonesia is not cheap. If you compare the cost of food and hotel room between Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur, you will realize that living in Indonesia is more expensive. Petrol, electricity, cooking gas, cooking oil are much more expensive in Indonesia.

Thanks for sharing! Noticing that all countries you mentioned are located in South-East Asia and as you also mentioned they all have a very promising economic growth potential, investing in a mutual fund/ETF covering this continent (i.e South-East Asia), could be very promising as well for the coming years. isn't it?
