This music video makes such a bigger impact on me now as my major coursework at university this year was to research the impact of landmines, the more I read about them the more horrified I was, land mines actually end up affecting civilians most of the time (70-80%) and 30% are children. at the current rate that humanity is going, it's predicted to take 1000 years before all the current landmines are demined...

As Memorial Day approaches in the United States, before you start your BBQ or trip to the lake, check on any of the veterans you might know. Survivor's guilt is a powerful thing that our Soldiers have to deal with once they return back home that many, many people back home just dont' see or understand. As a veteran of the U.S. army, these songs and videos hit me even harder than they otherwise would. I was in Iraq in 2011, and I heard over 200 explosions while I was over there. Any one of those explosions could have been the one to hit me. Mortars are nothing to fuck with. I felt the shockwave of the mortars while I was on base. Thinking about it now, 12 years later, I can't help but agonize over what so many others have had to deal with that I was lucky enough to never be hit by. That also includes innocent civilians living in those war-torn countries that have nothing to do with their government's decisions. Do the politicians get it yet? No. They don't give a shit. I wish there was a way to put a final end to all of the wars this world fights. I believe there are a lot of people that want peace instead of war, but the ones charge make the decisions to throw more lives away. This song is also a cover of the original by The Offspring. Both versions speak in volumes about this experience. Five Finger Death Punch also illustrates the issues with the government in another song they wrote: "No One Gets Left Behind." They really step up to call out the ones that are making these deadly decisions since they don't seem to have a sense of accountability of their own. I saw 5FDP live last year, and they were every bit as intense in concert as they are in the studio. It was a dream come true because I have been listening to them since about 2005. Keep it metal. \m/

FFDP does a great job of visualizing their messages, regardless of the subject matter. As I've seen people recommending, I fully recommend doing a reaction to their song "Coming Down". Though it depicts very sensitive topics, it is very powerful. For those who may not be interested in their genre of music, I still suggest people not only watch their videos, but also listen to the lyrics in their songs. Sure, this is a cover of a song by The Offspring, but it is songs like this that helps them spread their messages, and helps bring awareness to these issues.

I read so many things about Our Soldiers fighting for our Country / life. I know that FFDP are pretty patriotic in this case, but people should start to ask themselves if the wars they were sent to are really needed? They did their job, right. But actually the US-Government not just did let them fall after .... The biggest lie is that they make soldiers believe that it is for protection. It never was in the last 20 years. They are used for political interests (Oil, = Money = control) The sad question is: Will this ever end? The states are the only Country in the world who is permanently involved in a war or at least at the same time more at once, since WW II. Literally! Let the wars stop even if this would mean a bit less comfort and economic prosperity. BTW original song is from The Offspring. ;-)

Veterans do suffer from this, severely. We also suffer from being discarded by the very government that wanted us to serve. Then, when we no longer served a purpose...tossed like yesterdays trash. Ignored...unless its an election year. Then they kiss our asses for our votes...then disappear again. Its been my experience that the ONLY ones who care about Veterans...are other Veterans.
