Here’s to hoping you do best voting confessionals of all time. This can include salty ones like Crystal voting Randy in Gabon. Perfection like Parv voting for Erik in Micronesia. Or terribly misguided before they’re blindsided like Russell in Redemption Island.

great idea ! you can even split it into best and worst (or most unfortunate) voting confessionals if you want since then you can talk abt the latter more

I think Boston Rob fits more into the terribly misguided part, when he voted Russell and said “welcome to the big leagues”. He sounded so obnoxious in the way he said it, that it felt good seeing the smug wiped off his face when Tyson blindsided himself.

I’ll mention again the 2 votes I mentioned in the previous video comment section: 1) Cook Islands, final 7, one of the Penner votes had a little comment written below. 2) Australian All Stars, Phoebe wrote “moan-a”. Side note, I never understood the Moana hate.
@uglyaniimals

it didn't make the edit but apperently moana was cold and a borderline bully to people outside of her alliance + phoebe got it the worst

What was the comment on Penner’s vote?
@Ori_Kohav
8 ай бұрын
@@uglyaniimals given that 3 of those out of her alliance (Shonee, Brooke, AK) were obvious production favorites (saved by bs twists that were announced last minute), I don’t believe that story. In fact, I think it was the other way around. Saying Moana was a bully sounds more like an excuse to poor sportsmanship and/or bratty behavior. That same card was played by Abi Maria on Denise and RC, by Will Sims and Dan Foley on Shirin, by Kass on Trish, and by Kimmi on Spencer. I also have quite a bit of experience myself with people who act immaturely and play victim as an excuse. If Moana was actually a bully, the editors would show it to make the production favorites look better (especially Shonee, who is annoyingly overrated). I also don’t think David would ally with Moana in that case.

To be fair, Laurel and Donathan weren’t entirely obedient to Dom and Wendell. They went against them in voting out Morgan, and the Des vote was Laurel’s call
@Meodread
8 ай бұрын
The issue is that aside from Voting out Morgan (which worth noting was before the alliance was solid) they didn't ever commit to doing anything to stop them. They had ideas. They had talks. But there was a complete lack of follow through.
@Ori_Kohav
8 ай бұрын
@@Meodread because it was Laurel’s best chance to make the end, rather than siding with an alliance that she’s clearly at the bottom of. I think the jury was too harsh on Laurel for not shooting herself in the foot like Donathan did. Her game was similar to Natalie White, who ended up winning, and to Susie Smith, who was just one vote away from winning. I also don’t think Wendell being more vocal necessarily makes him a better player. At least Dom seemed to actually control the votes.
@Meodread
8 ай бұрын
@@Ori_Kohav I mean going back to your OP your talking about her not being entirely obedient which true but we are talking what 90% of the time? Her game in effect was about as follower as it gets. Now was that the right move? Maybe. She finished 3rd. She got to cast the winning vote. If she goes against Dom/Wendel maybe she ends up out at like 10 or something. But the critique of her from fans (not the jury to be clear, I tend not to judge players, the game is 39 days long, we see less than a day of their perspective, who the hell knows how the interactions were, I mean we literally have alliances with no backstory in current seasons cause of time constraints, doesn't mean they are random and baseless) is that she of the follower type players talked about not being able to win a lot. There was a stunning amount of awareness that she could not beat Wendell and Dom only for it to go nowhere. You could argue that frustration is with the edit and not Laurel because it's probably a lot more common than the edit suggests that a follower absolutely knows this isn't a winning game but that every other option is just worse but we were beat over the head with it.
@Ori_Kohav
8 ай бұрын
@@Meodread if the follower was also impactful in several votes, then it is a winning strategy, especially if the supposed leader rubs people the wrong way. My main point is that Laurel was judged unfairly.
@Meodread

@@Ori_Kohav I mean I do challenge you to say where I said being a follower can't win. See South Pacific and Samoa of course for the textbook on that. But from a viewer POV Wendel in particular was shown as very liked. And I don't really have an argument for your feeling cause it's a feeling and we're all entitled to them but I do think there are reasons which even Laurel in some post season press admitted had validity. Her I'm pretty sure it was RHAP interview where she goes over a lot of what the edit just ignored was insightful but it does also end with her saying she got gun-shy about pulling the trigger.

In fact, I often intentionally avoid topics I consider easy, low hanging fruit - top ten blindsides, worst moves, best players in history, best idol plays, best and worst seasons, etc. - I've never covered any of those. Sincerely appreciate the comment though, and if there are any topics you want to hear about, let me know!
