Thanks for reiterating what we've been warned not to do. I used to go to professional salons for my relaxer. They colored my relaxed hair, and when I asked if it was okay to relax a few days after washing my hair - I was told, "Sure, no problem. As a result of their bad hair care methods, mine was damaged, and broke off. Not only had I put my trust into these so called hair experts, I became distrustful of all hair stylist. In addition to loosing hair, I spent a great sum of money doing so.

In Africa many people comb their relaxers... mostly because most hairstylers never went to school to learn the craft. Maybe relaxers should come with a note in bold letters telling people to not comb through hair when relaxing and to relax the roots last. We've been doing it all wrong lol

Not a permanent colour, however a semi-perminant or Demi colour is fine after relaxing. Sweetie, after applying the Relaxer with the brush some textures definitely needs gently combing through before rinsing. Also, Shampooing hair before a Relaxer dosent cause breakage, it causes burns. 😉

I recently switched back to no lye and literally in 10 minutes with no manipulation my hair was straight. With lye I would be smoothing- leaving it on for 15 minutes, lol, that’s long for me, and kinky barely noticeable change- which I wanted initially but now I want more texturized/texlaxed looking. So if you’re finding yourself having to leave the relaxer in longer, smoothing with a comb etc switch to something else. Maybe Super strength for some people

sharlene hylton That’s a great question. Probably best for a professional but I wouldn’t do it with mines 😩 too scared! Thanks for watching! 😊

treatments and dont touch it so much. i had the same problem when started doing treatments and whatnot my hair stopped breaking. find a treatment your hair likes lot of trial and error. also try protein treatments and if you dye your hair try henna.
