Agree, I put a lot of effort into this, after years of using Brevilles…but, your comment makes it worthwhile. I’m just trying to help anyone I can :)

@craftcoffeespot how I can extend my preinfusion in the barista touch impress ??
@craftcoffeespot

You can hold the brew icon on the touch screen and it’ll change to manual mode. The Touch and Touch Impress pre-infusion *might* be locked at 7 seconds though.

If you are the same Craft Coffee that offers roasted coffee subscriptions, which of your coffees do you like for espresso? Any favorites? Thanks for your videos, very good info.

Many many good coffees, but a couple espresso blends I recommend: Dark matter - unicorn blood Sightglass - crown point Counter culture - hologram I don’t mean to slight other roasters with this list. Craft Coffee Spot is a different owner, as I have not launched a coffee (yet).

Great videos!! I just found you getting educated on purchasing a machine. If you have to pre-heat the the brew head and portafilter, wouldn't the thermal coil be better than the Thermal Jet on the various models?

I am considering a Bambino Plus, Express Impress, and Pro. Maybe even a regular Express...

@@jlgugo Pre heat is a small negative for ThermoJet. It’s still faster though, as a thermocoil takes 20 minutes to pre heat without a blank shot. Also, ThermoJet has a more powerful steam wand too. I really don’t recommend the regular Express. Maybe if you do an OPV mod the regular Express can work (watch our other video to see). Otherwise, Everything else you listed is a better option…and Baratza Encore ESP is a nice pairing for Bambino’s.

Should coffee start dripping during preinfusion time? I fear I am brewing without the proper pressure. Thanks

Not necessarily. When I grind really fine or use a big dose, it won’t drip. I doubt you’re having a pressure issue. We also cheated a bit on film by using a coarser grind and long pre infusion (like 15-20 seconds), because I wanted it to look obvious. I rarely get more than a little dripping IRL. It’s even harder to see on a spouted portafilter.

So I have been manually pulling my shot on my breville express. I hold it down for pre infusion 8-10 seconds at 10 seconds I release the button and let it shoot up to 9 bars of pressure but by the time I get 36 grams of coffee I’m now only 18-20 seconds in. Is there a way I can slow down the extraction down even with 9 bars. if I grind finer it will over extract and the pressure will go to high. Any help will be appreciated. Should I let the pre infusion go even longer like 12 Seconds ? Thank you.

I would grind finer. Brevilles run over 9 bars. Also, don't get too hung up on time. It sounds like it tastes good. Some beans can go 20 seconds, others 40. If you want an advanced trick, try modifying the OPV inside the Breville. We have that on another video here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/omqu1ql7jXyfrY4

@@omarllama that is right - there’s a sensor that checks for the hopper or it won’t function. Was wondering if I’m missing something but checked and that’s right…Either way, not a big deal.

@craftcoffeespot I been having a little problem find the correct number to brew my expresso every time I add a new bean even is the same brand all the same looks like is not consistent in the same brew number something is more that 30 or some times is correct in the same brew when I’m doing double
@craftcoffeespot
10 ай бұрын
Hang on, for “number” are you talking about 30 grind size or brew time? If grind size, check that inner burr - may need to go coarser. If time is longer than 30 seconds, grinding too fine.

Also, be patient when starting. It takes one bag of beans to get basic dialed in on a new machine. Do the basics of grinding finer or coarser to get shot time in the zone of 30 seconds (finer = longer). I’d get a basic scale because the Touch Impress doesn’t seem to have a timer and the pre-program is 30ml or 60ml when most brews are 35-40ml.
