Very good Dave. I'll try a pattern or two at my next strum group

On pattern 4 the timing doesn't seem to come out to 4/4 time. I get 1 & 2 & 3 & is this for 3/4 time? I enjoyed the video.

You're absolutely right Keith, the way I play it here it's in 3/4 time

Ive just came back to learning Ukulele after a 6 months break due to a broken finger and I wasn't very advanced before i injured myself. I have been practicing a very similar picking style to number 4, but because my ukulele is tuned to low G i start with the low G string in the pattern rather than the C.

Thanks Dave, really clear and helpful fingerpicking patterns. Will enjoy practising. Could I just ask, am I right in saying re the fake strum that you individually pluck strings c,e,a and not pull them altogether? I did become a patreon but a cheepie one!

Hi Lisa, it's all of the strings, GCEA with a very slight delay between each string pluck. You're essentially trying to replicate what happens when you strum.

Well I'm not the best at this but, I would say put down the tab, just try and play along to anything. Start with simple melodies like nursery rhymes, TV themes, move on to the vocal lines from songs you know well. Also pick some songs that have a handful of chords and again just try and play along. If you dedicate yourself to doing this I'm sure it would work.
