Thanks for the video. But to be fair, there is just method 4, as with all the other methods production will get into trouble downstream (stretched textures etc.). My TD will have a nightmare from method 5. No way this is allowed on a high end show or film. Or imagine you get this shot from a college who used this technique and you have to fix it. It's hell. There is only the hard way, which is method 4. All the others you are making it easy for yourself as an animator, but giving your colleges problems. It might look good in the playblast, but it's quick and dirty. Most likely the animation will come back to you for you to fix it properly, or you will put your colleges through a lot of pain.

many production today have good rig so you can use the first method with a controller to stretch the knee...in another feature film the animator had to create cluster to fix bad rig deformation... and it was not an exception, in Sony, animators create their own blendshape that completely change the design of the character.. so yes..those things can be use..feature film production is a nightmare

How can we use the last method if we are working in the industry, as we are not allowed to tweak the geometry ? So if there is no controller for knee, then what can we do? And also one more question - Are these knee extend controllers used in VFX animation as they are based on realism?
